Is it true that the AI is not smart?

The AI is dumb. Last civ game I played is Civ beyond earth and i gave up hope on firaxis developers of being competent enough. Lets for starter, AI don't know how to move and shoot with ranged units in same turn. :) I don't know the state of AI in civ6 but I suspect its exactly the same with...

Official announcement: Hot off the presses. Next Civ game in development!!!!!!!

Lets see if Firaxis devs has learned how to program ai units to move and shoot in same turn. And whether if maps in civ7 is even more smaller than civ6. I wait in excitement to find out!

[BNW] Planet of Plotting Autocrats :P (Pics Heavy Thread)

In my long absence from civ5 series and the civfanatic forums I recently started to play a little bit of civ5 again. Then I finally got something I wanted at last. I've done only minor tweaks to the AI. Extremely tiny. This is my current game in progress. Its literally a planet full of...

    Quick Questions and Answers

Can Civ6's Military AI move and shoot its ranged units like archers, etc in same turn now or are they still incapable of such a feat? I'm really curious.

    A conquered city doesn't grow

You have to get the opposing Civ to cede the control of the city to you in peace treaty. Otherwise it will be trapped in disputes and unable to be productive.

Has Civ6 become 3000 times more difficult?

Okay, I Played 13 hours of Civ6. King difficulty all. On my fifth game.. my usual whine of "Huge" map being too tiny aside, Gilgamesh forward settled next to my capital. I recalled all my exploring warriors/scouts/archers back to my capital and zerged the offending city. Razed it. Pillaged his...

Why Did They Make Barbarians Tougher?

You guys tricked me into buying Civ6. Thought barbarians was gonna be actually a threat. They still isn't lol. I started like five new games and played for first 100 turns with me still playing my 5th out. They were a snoozefest if anything, bit easier than civ5 barbarians. I usually have a big...

thoughts on civ vi from old-timers

I've played civilization games since I was a little kid. From Civ3 to Civ BE. Including Civ Revolutions and the Beyond Earth into space board game on steam. Forgot name. I play on biggest maps possible for my PC. I refused to purchase CIV6 because Firaxis was behaving so very suspiciously when...

Why are the maps so small?

Nah, I ain't doing any modding or anything. I suffered through the punishment that was Beyond Earth. Maps smaller than Civ5 in it. So I made maps bigger, then suddenly bugs become rare sight. Therefore, the simple thing for me to do is to ignore Firaxis until they get their act together. I...

Why are the maps so small?

Thank you for this vital piece of information. I won't be purchasing Civ6 after all. Because 128 X 80 is pretty much the bare minimum before I start to feel too claustrophobia on a map smaller than the bare minimum. On other hand, its very disappointing that my prediction that firaxis will...

C5- What does the picture show?

Well.. this is what I see in the blurry picture. If its too blurry for me to identify my mind naturally fill in details it want to see..

How will GamePlay change if there is no City Defense?

You're describing Civ 4 and earlier games without stacking of units. Early on the battles will likely be confined to just around the city for quick reinforcements from city itself. There's just not that many districts to worry about in classical era, etc. Later on, players will likely...

Looks like an underwater ancient ruin to me. There's that curved line in the middle that resembles the amphitheaters.

    Ideology Strangeness

Strangest moment I've had with ideologies was when I got my first King win few years ago. I mobilized my massive navy + Land forces and was locked to charge into chinese and stop them from pulling off a science win. The moment I declared war, all the autocratic dissidents in china came out of...

Why don't we have many preview articles like we had in late May?

I suspect it's because Firaxis enjoys to watch us suffer from the information drought. Nah not really. It pretty much told us everything there is to know about civ6. Cannot go more detailed than that this early until its close enough to release date. Next piece of information is likely to...

China - Qin Shi Huang Thread

It doesn't really feel like a significant opportunity cost to me because the outermost hexes tend to be unworked by the city unless its something awesome enough to assign a citizen there. They generally will be empty until the city has the population to work on third ring. To build it, it...
