Sorry I've been sick for the last week, and I forgot about posting.
I'm willing to give it one more go, but all this re-rolling is getting mighty boring.
Yes but if you already rushed the courthouse you used gold to get it. Gold you could have just used to rush the aqueduct and market, getting them up that much faster. Also, you would have to work tiles with shields to get the benefit from the courthouse, which prevents a lot of food which can be...
1) No, the AI takes the hit, and declares war. It will even say "x declares war on you". You get war happiness as well :)
2) No, there is not, it is always leave or war. You could try blocking the path of the AI units with your units, making them turn back.
I mainly prefer C3C because you don't have to build in ring city placement for the best corruption. None of the things listed really bother me except the overpowered armies, but they were overpowered in PTW too, since the AI can't deal with them.
It is certainly a good tech to have, but it doesn't have that game-changing nature like rails or getting out of despotism. You move faster, but not all that much faster if you planned your roads well. Probably makes my top 10 though.
You must be playing PTW? No contacts and maps that early in C3C.
Mine:
1.) Republic (commerce bonus!)
2.) Steam Power (rails are very powerful)
3.) Replaceable Parts (double worker speed, 2 units, rubber, what's not to like?)
4.) Military Tradition (Cavalry and the Military Academy make...
Play as Britain if you want to kill the US. Or mexico, but that might be harder (make sure you ally the other one against the US to distract them while you take the east coast powerhouse cities).
I've taken some of their cities as Britain before, but never completely taken them out. Too...
I agree with Spoonwood totally, you should get CoL and we should go republic. This isn't a war based game in the first place, so republic is pretty much always the best choice if we can get it, which we can. A real turn of luck, I wasn't expecting CoL to be available.
Floodplains are about the same as a BG it seems to me... 3 food or 2 food one production. I don't know. I guess I always dismiss floodplains because I've had annoying experiences with disease. I'll get them up asap.
Yes, I don't know why Rome is so backwards, they seem like the most powerful...
I guess I've never looked into it at larger sizes, I assumed that since you didn't get the bonus when small, you don't get it when large. You get shields from resources you build on immediately...
As a note, we will get extra shields at size 7 and 12 from industrious... Plus I think a size 7...
