Filled in the survey just now. I'm quite curious to see what will result of this research. Good luck!

    How does obsolescence work?

What I meant was that the monument's culture bonus remains if you built the monument yourself, but not if it was given for free from SH, in which case it simply disappears at obsolescence.

    How does obsolescence work?

IIRC the same applies to the Stonehenge/monument bonuses. Seems that if a tech obsoletes a building then the wonder giving that building is also rendered obsolete, except for the bonuses it provides the city it was built in.

What's your typical game strategy? Poll

I chose the have fun strategy because really, that's the reason I play this game. I will often play a game to test out some new knowledge I got out of the War Academy, but even then I try to not be too strict with it and just do whatever is the most fun. In other cases I will simply try to play...

where do I go to add new music?

I just used Gerikes method posted by Mr.Pooter, and it works like a charm. Just be sure to always copy whole blocks of code including the end part with the Brackets (<>) and forward slash (/) or else the game will crash upon loading.

The Event that broke the camel's back...

I've had a more balanced experience with random events, so I don't really mind playing with them on. I'm just about to move up to Monarch, so I don't know if they are more bothersome the higher up you play, but for now I find that they add more to the experience than they take away from it so I...

How long will you be around?

For me, it all depends on the amount of time it will take for the game to come to Mac, since this is my only viable gaming machine right now. I hardly ever buy a game on release, but this is one of those select few that I will, though I haven't heard any Mac news for Civ V as of yet. :( As far...

    Favorite Tech

Writing, for libraries. I almost always build one in every city. Second would be Education, because I build universities in almost every city. Plus, if I can get it before everyone else, I'm a shoe-in for the Liberalism free tech.

Civilization IV is more addictive than crack cocaine

I think it would take me a while to realize I was on a desert island if it happened to have a solar powered computer running exclusively Civ 4 on it.

Is the Space Elevator worth it?

Wouldn't it be viable in a situation where being stressed defensively by war on multiple fronts would make taking the time to build a laboratory in each city riskier than just using a great person to rush the SE? I say this because my understanding of the SE is that it is basically the...

What american civ is the best???(civ4)

I voted for NA, if only for the fact that every game I've played against them they've been quite a pain to deal with. In one instance they spawned right next to me and game me quite a run for my money. Not so for any of the others, though Monty used to be a pain when I first started playing the...

Not-So-Useful units, buildings, GPs and wonders

Monthy Python - UU for England, replaces great artist - 5 Immediately spawn in England following discovery of Philosophy, and 1 spawns in America if that civ is present (if not, a random English city on a different landmass from the capital breaks off into an American Colony and gains that...
