Just rebooted last night, and can't reproduce the error, but I'm pretty sure it was when I had at lease a dozen apps running. I usually only reboot once or twice a week. I'll keep trying as the week goes on, and will post the particulars if I can crash it again!

There is (perhaps) one way to get them another couple of squares apart, and keep the max gold for trade - by changing the 01 to 1F value for the special resource in TerraForm, it moves them around on the map. Not sure if any of the values will enable a further distance though. Pretty cool that...
