You're right -- I meant for when I'd settle near the mountain. The whole area north of it is desert too. :)

If I'm going for a science victory, is it worth it to go all the way to the mountain and settle SE? Takes 2 turns. I would lose the river though; but I feel like settling in place isn't great either, given there's probably only one fish. What would you suggest?

I've noticed that sometimes actions for which there was a popup (i.e. production finished or free GP) will not succeed if there is a unit awaiting commands. Normally it would direct you to that unit but sometimes it doesn't, and you have to find the unit first before the action of the popup will...

What do you mean "due to puppets"? You automatically raze captured cities in OCC.
