    Revolutions

Does anybody have any plans to make a Revolutions mod? Unlike Civilization IV, Civilization already has 20 unique civilization to play, albeit each civilization only has one leader. Nevertheless, it would occur to me that a Revolutions mod will be one of the building blocks of the advanced...

[Civ 5] Rise of Mankind design discussion

I do agree that designing a new tech tree would be tan important step, but I do believe there are some fundamentals that should be agreed first. The Civilization V Rise of Mankind should be similar to Civilization IV's, but there should be some major differences as well, so that it isn't just...

War and Peace- A City-State Diplomacy Mod

I am interested! I proposed the same here. I do, however, have some suggestions. (1) Maybe this approach to diplomacy shouldn't merely encompass city-states but all diplomacy. Diplomacy units could be made a requirement for all interactions with nations. (2) Certain diplomatic units...

-33% penalty for being in open terrain a bit silly?

Now -- this really depends on your interpretation of history. Yes, most of Europe's battles were fought on open fields, but remember. Both sides were fighting on open fields. However, in the French and Indian War, the British showed that they were heavily inadequate in the American terrain...

Radical new ideas for future Civilization games

Well, it's not really radical. It's basically trying to apply Age of Empires mechanics into Civilization, but the idea just won't work. The problem is that Age of Empires dealt with particular events throughout time for the player to play in real time. (For example, the time-span would be...

    World Builder/Cheat mode

Well, go to World Builder in the Civilization V SDK program. (That program cannot be active, as you are playing the game.) To cheat with money, use the Scenario Editor at the top of bar to edit a civilization's money. To edit the building of a city, go under the Cities tab at the right hand...

How satisfied are you with Civ5?

Actually, you can use World Builder in order to decide where you and your enemies want to start on any map.

    City-State Seemingly Crashes

The following game crashes in about ten turns from the save provided, after a bunch of civilizations declare war on a city-state. Is there any way to prevent this happening?

Who else agrees that Civ 5 has been dumbed down?

We should all still remember that Civilization V continues to be the highest played game since release. It's also interesting that the population that believes Civilization V as dumbed down is the same one that believes that religion should be brought back into the game.

    Earth Huge Map

What about Civilization 5 --> Assets --> Maps? That's where I found that Earth map for World Builder, but now it won't work.

Can anyone then tell me how to resync the files?

    Earth Huge Map

Well, all I really need is that one map in the Maps folder in the Civilization V folder.

    Earth Huge Map

Could someone provide me with a Huge, Earth Map from the Maps section in your files? I was experimenting with World Builder, and I accidentally saved that scenario and map change into the actual file. Generally, though, the World Builder is much, much better than Civilization IV's.

Who else agrees that Civ 5 has been dumbed down?

And 3/4 people don't believe the game was dumbed down. Honestly, the reason that people believe the game is even dumbed down is truly because of the less clogged up screen that Civilization IV had. However, the only thing that happened was that the information was reorganized, not omitted, and...

    The Ending: Uh...

I'd rather have 2001: A Space Odyssey, with all its seemingly boring imagery, than a contemporary Hollywood movie, with its explosions and excitement.

    Congratulations Firaxis!

Well, you'd have to assume that your friend's list is an accurate sample of the Civilization population, and I, at least with many other people, probably can't claim that accessory. In terms of your argument about the novelty of Civilization V, it would be true, if it was release day or...

    Congratulations Firaxis!

Technically, number of hours played would be a weightless statistic. It would have to be number of hours played out of number of hours or days the game has been released. However, for that manner, none of the other games get that statistic as well. Nobody knows long people play Call of Duty...
