    pilage burn and loot!!!

yeah but with free speech towns can grow back quick so single pillaging from town to vilage can be quite nice (20 gold for relatively fast regrowth)

    Another Gov Discussion

nationalism kicks ass for situations like yours where you need troops asap. even better if have some gold to spare and can buy and draft same turn (guess its possible to even combine with slavery and alternate the whip with buying although usually emancipation required for the happies). my...

    Flank Attacks

has seemed very random to me. after tons of war ive only noticed flank attacks occurring v v rarely! am i right in saying it only occurs in the field, not when attacking cities also.

    pilage burn and loot!!!

the hard part is NOT taking cities lol. actually can help you more having wars every now against wek enemy and then, (pillaging towns, generating GG points and stealing workers etc) thank taking cities which may be drain on economy. plus its kinda fun (thinking cat with wounded mouse lol)

    pilage burn and loot!!!

mayb e statingthe obvious but on my recent deity game i noticed more than ever the importance of pillaging! as i was trying to make some big allies i would go to war whenever asked if only to pillage and build up some GG points (and the diplo bonus). pillaging a town down to the ground (town...

The war weariness is killing me!

in recent game i had similar problem and the effect of WW was KILLING the economy and thus research was very low as i had to ride high cultural slider. switching to nationhood: v useful as get +2 happy. low upkeep allows you to still run high culture for extra smile and keep science decent...

    Warhammer Fantasy Battles

sorry if this is old news...havent had time to read through all pages. but an AMAZING MOD! one thing confuses me...the whole magic/hedgewizard side of things. civlopedia doesnt say anything about them and im just completely confused as to what they do. when i try to cast haste it comes up with...

    Colonies and overseas development

I always prefer taking out my opponents before running colonies the key to winning civ...war! human players are much better at it than the AI even on higher dif settings (ballanced only by fact AI pumps out silly numbers of troops). the AI rarely uses the troops the best way. i mean how often...

    "Groundshaking" Invasion Strategy

recently i have found it more productive to just make 1-2 spy units per city i want to attack and use espionage points to take out all defense for one turn. means no wait to bombard (thus AI less likely to whip, build or move troops)

oh i do like to be beside the seaside....or do i..?

guess sea/coastal not so bad if financial. the ability to link cities without roads if pretty useful early game. also the foreign trade routes.still find my best large cities/capitals are inland on river. to a degree are safer also as protected from sea attack.

oh i do like to be beside the seaside....or do i..?

just wondering, what are your thoughts towards settling a city bythe coast as compared to inland by a river? do you find the 3-5 sea tiles less useful over time (2 food, 3 gold i think as non financial civ and non improvable) vs the trade route money? i have generally just settled by coast in...

    Is the Great Lighthouse overpowered?

and play as carthage (financial) for the unique building of Cothon instead of harbour (+1 trade route, +50% route yeild) and free market (+1 trade route) and its caa-ching!

Guardian Angel - an experiment gone right

there was an article on here about the whole life expectancy and approval rate. litterally is some kind of simple equation revolving around surplus happy or health. makes more sense to have these values low really as you would be maxing out in size/productivity etc

How usefull is a small civ as your vassal.

its very hard to get the vassal researching at agood rate. normally they only capitulate when they have very few cicites so u might have to liberate a few back (watching the freedom rules!). keeping them powerful enough but not too important is crucial. Also it allows you to beeline ahead a...

How usefull is a small civ as your vassal.

if you can keep a vassal fairly so so (maybe 3-4 cities and liberate a captured one) they can be VERY handy as second researchers. ive gotten vassals in past to research a few older techs i wanted and thats prtty big. also the fact that you can have buffer between yuo and foe can be useful. is...

Is it possible to recover an economy?

guess most of my advice not too useful as so early in the game. i hit strike once when had treasury stolen by spy and was running specialist economy with slider at 0%. i too was at war, had foreight troop costs not to mention a huge army and the costs from new cities pre courthouses on another...
