[NOT BUG] Happiness does not accrue during Golden Age

The issue: when your civ is not in a Golden Age, the happiness count is displayed along with the next total that will trigger a 15-turn Golden Age. When your civ is in a Golden Age, the happiness count (I think I read it referred to as a "bucket" before release) is not displayed, although the...

    Blitz promotion is INSANE

A ranged unit upgrades to a melee unit? That's... weird.

Gifting units to city states.. does it work?

the influence increase is there, but damned small. I only found it useful to gift back units I didn't need to a militaristic CS - and even that's not enough to maintain ally status Edit: to the guy who gifted a worker, that doesn't do anything. Combat units only

    Cool, you can recapture settlers.

lol wtf are the barbs going to do with a settler? Have him sharpen sticks for the palisade?

There IS a clock in Civ 5

Re-introducing the clock better be high on the patch list.

Diplomacy - Not bad, just different.

I don't know what "Gold???" means, but "unhappiness" is a good point. (One of the) reasons for not steamrolling city-states is the same reason for not over-expanding: since producing happiness buildings (or any building) is dog-slow, managing unhappiness becomes a huge chore for the...

City-States and Maintaining Relations...What's the Point?

Cultivating a maritime CS sounds useful because that food bonus sounds sick... I want even more to like cultured CS (I'm a pansy), but is there really any point? Anyone know if the culture benefit exceeds what the city could produce (including gold and hammers) if you just took it over?

Retraction of Criticism - Civ V is great.

That's heartening, because my first and only game so far (on Prince) the AI was just terribad. I kind of suck and this was no challenge whatsoever. I wasn't expecting just AI carnage on "Normal" difficulty.

    AI difficulty

Just finished my first game at Prince (that's supposed to be "normal," right?) and it was just stupid. I'm terrible at Civ IV - no patience, hate micromanagement, don't know wtf I'm doing with civics and wonders... but apparently those aren't handicaps in Civ 5. It's not much fun to just...

Baba Yetu like them song? Do you want it in Civ V?

I'm at work and can't check, but IIRC it's not too hard to find. Get the startup options menu to open at launch (think that's in the Options in main menu) and I believe it's in there

    Upgrade Video Drivers Today

That's even more true of ATI drivers. They try to make game-specific optimizations (you can read them in the release notes) and unless you have a mainstream setup or something they just happened to test a patch against, you're taking your life in your hands running a just-released ATI driver.

    Upgrade Video Drivers Today

I tested this feature some days ago with my crossfire'd 4850s and it... didn't work at all. Hung on driver reset, like it always does when I don't clear out the prior drivers and restart. Gotta love ATI - "we do hardware. The hell with drivers" Doesn't look like Steam is removing the old...

Just got my CIV V Strategy Guide!

I'm not guessing here. Appropriating "facts" or "ideas" (i.e. information) cannot be the basis for (successful) legal action in the manner you describe. Trust me. Now, if someone's dumb enough to simply copy the expression or arrangement of such information - that is actionable. You can copy...

How Dare They? This can't be a Civ game now more. Bring back the Spearman Vs Tank...

I'm hoping that this (in addition to combat-strength inflation, it looks like modern units are close to an order of magnitude stronger than ancient now) is why Firaxis is saying it's now "impossible" for spearman > tank - because the new Civ paradigm is everyone has far fewer units than was once...
