Civ 5 is possibly the worst waste of money I ever did on a PC game. My advice is simple. If you love the Civilizations series I suggest you not to buy Civ5.
Hello.
Basically I am looking for some sort of giant earth map (scenario) with correct starting locations.
Now what I need is basically just the map without any additional mods. I have tried quite a few large earth maps but they all come with some mods to the gameplay. I don't like that. I...
Well I have been playing this map in signleplayer and it is the classic random generated continents map that I always like.
I tried it in multiplayer and it seems I always get Earth. Is that a bug or is it just Earth under the wrong name?
I have been playing this mod lately. The locations seems to be correct but resources are still random.

Hope it helps.
Okay me and my brother were playing a match on multiplayer and after a while we had to stop and we were surprised to find out that it has no save game option.
If we assume that both were released today and then if I assume that I didn't "overplay" civ4, I have to say I would probably play civ4 since I prefer its combat system and complexity.
Also as Generals3 said it should compare to BTS.
Well that's actually a good point. The huge amount of cities later in the game was quite a problem. Especially if you were playing with friends over the internet and you had to wait each other for ages. :crazyeye:
AlpsStranger, as you mentioned there are lots of things that are good. I like many new concepts as well, even minor ones (such as atom bomb delivered by an aircraft and no global nukes). But sadly there are some few changes that makes me dislike the whole game. As one unit per tile being a...
Well I guess you just want to play with your childish tricks.
I admitted that my first post did not contain the explanation why I dislike it and I forgave your wrong assumptions. But now that I spent time to actually nicely explain why I dislike the feature, now you completely ignored it and...
It is unrealistic which is pretty much a fact.
Whether it benefits the gameplay or not it is subject of debate and individual opinion. For me it reduces the quality of gameplay.
That was a lame assumption. Just because I did not state the reason why I dislike it it doesn't mean you can assume that I dislike it only because it's not Civ4 and because I am a Civ4 lover (to further crush your argument: Civ, Civ2 and Civ3 didn't have that either). Now I have explained the...
It's not the bugs that worry me. Bugs were not intended to be there and will eventually get fixed. I an worried about the idiotic features that were planed and consciously made and will not get fixed. An example of this would be one unit per tile. Civ4 did not have this kind of crap.
Well I got to admit no one really annoys me (yet).
I kinda found Pacal II and Suryavarman II annoying in civ4. I loved the Montezuma because the guy smiled no matter what it was about.
1 unit per tile is plain stupid!
When in real world army is attacking the enemy line they don't attack by having infantry at one location and then armored units 200km away. They attack at the same spot, close to each other to increase their power, momentum, penetration ability and...
Well civ5 has some minor improvements/additions that I like a lot: such as the natural wonders, atomic bomb (delivered by an aircraft) and new unique units like A6M Zero fighter and B-17 bomber.
But as it was already mentioned it lacks a lot of stuff (religion, espionage, health etc). Let's...
