    DirectX 11 won't open?

Ok I know this thread is not new but it often comes up when searching this topic. Most of the fixes that are usually posted do not work. What much of this stems from is a missing dll file that you are not notified of when selecting DirectX 11 from the launch menu. I created a shortcut for...

    Gripe 2: Steam

You can't resell a PC game. At least no store I'm aware of buys used PC games and no individual in their right mind would buy a used PC game. They went with Steam because of piracy.

    Steam - love or hate?

I have no problem at all with steam in fact I actually like it. Piraters don't like it though.

    4,99$ For Babylon

Don't buy it if it is too much. I think it is fine. The sims 3 charged $3 for a couch on the dlc store that is a real ripoff. A lot comes with a new civ in unit skins unique units and of course the animations for the leader himself. I see the issue that some have thinking this should have...

IGN claims Civ 5 "has no soul".

I agree with some of the content of the article but overall the critique that it "has no soul" is corny. I don't exactly even know what that means but if I do understand it correctly only a handful of games I have played in my life have evoked emotion the rest are what they are you play them...

CIV 5 the worst letdown in PC gaming, ever.

Was the worst letdown in PC gaming. I would also say C and C Tiberium wars was also, coming on the heels of Generals which was amazing.

Slowdown: It's the workers (with link to ugly fix)

2k needs to cut that guy a check because he figured it out alright. The fix is not very good of course but cheers to him for coming up with it.

Ugly trading post spam replacing ugly road spaghetti spam.

^^^ what a rediculous thing to say. There has never been a shortage of games being released unfinished or bad. You just have more outlets to discuss it these days through forums and find like minds than you did before so you notice it more. Had forums been around when Super Mario 2 and...

So did ANY of the people who reviewed this game actually PLAY it???

Many people like the game and there was a poll on this site that indicates this. Out of the Civ playing population I'm confident only a very small percentage comment on forums. There is no doubt that the people who hate the game are very vocal but imo it is a good game. It has issues but I...

    Amazon reviews

I'm not just guessing here. Read the negative reviews many of them are about Steam and the DRM. As for previous versions having DRM that is a laugh because DRM without internet requirement doesn't mean anything it is like it doesn't even exist. PC games with required internet, DRM and Steam...

    Amazon reviews

It was the DRM in this version that caused the Amazon backlash folks. None of the previous Civ games had DRM or the need for Steam.

Ugly trading post spam replacing ugly road spaghetti spam.

Sorry I'm at work I just only kind of read the opening post. Is this thread really about the trading posts looking dumb? Considering the graphics in the previous games I never took Civ fans as being very particular with graphics. I agree they don't look very good but I just never thought...

    Amazon reviews

Half of those negative reviews are simply because of the DRM and having to use Steam. There is also some that actually review the service they got from Amazon like getting it late and dvd's that don't read. There are of course people that don't like it but most games with DRM get assaulted on...

How do we FORCE gaming companies to start releasing FINISHED Games???

Blizzard's track record was from making iconic ips like Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft and having good support. The internet was in it's infancy then so there was no widespread discourse on how finished a game was so there was no "reputation" for making "finished" or "complete" games back...

How do we FORCE gaming companies to start releasing FINISHED Games???

GFT The only companies that have the luxury of releasing complete games is Valve and Blizzard/Activison. The only reason they have such patience is because Valve has Steam and Blizzard has World of Warcraft both of which account for heavy revenue streams that allow for them to simply not...
