Éa, The Ageless and the Divine (phase 2, alpha)

Been lurking recently, but I just wanted to say that you've got an impressive mod here. I'll gladly take some time to playtest.

    Sinking 357 ships

I think this achievement, more than any of the others, is based entirely on grinding the kills out. I'd presume Archipelago maps would be helpful, as would setting the enemy civs to the Ottomans or Elizabeth, so they are more likely to build ships.

    Social Policy Game 1: Autocracy

Bushido+Populism has wonderful synergy. At that point you are better off with your units at 8 or 9HP rather than at full. Discipline is just good anyway. I find autocracy is lackluster compared to order, primarily because it means you cannot go into liberty or freedom without also going into...

    Out-of-border roads. Who pays?

After you build the road, you can remove it for no penalty. So, essentially you pay for the road to be built in worker turns and upkeep while it is in production. After that, you can remove it with no ill effects.

    SG Registration and Recruitment

Good question. I'd be interested in playing in one. So thats two!

Does the settler start at the best position ? +position question

Generally when I settle on grassland Iron, its so that I don't have to spend worker turns picking it up and it can't be pillaged, which means I'll have the iron for as long as the city stands. As I've moved up to difficulty 5/6, I've been finding it more and more useful.

Does the settler start at the best position ? +position question

I haven't settled on a resource other than Iron or Horses ever. I was under the impression that it gave you the resource but not the improvement. Earlier in the thread I thought someone mentioned flood plains wheat, so I assumed that was the only wheat tile worth 3 food.

Does the settler start at the best position ? +position question

How are city tiles worth 3 food? Just settling on the resource improves it? Why is a floodplains wheat worth 3 food to a city, but grassland wheat is not?

    How to manage a island-city ?

What? No. Your cities aren't invincible. Units can attack from embark, they just take a penalty unless they have a specific promotion. Why would your capital need a harbour? It makes your capitol produce naval units faster, but it doesn't give you the trade route bonus... If you get a...

Well, I just finished a game on a huge map....

Some of the turn time is, apparently, solved by switching to strategic view between turns. Presumably this is because units aren't animated in Strat. View, so all the commands to move the pixels are removed. I haven't actually observed this, as I've only played a single large game with ended...

5 paper makers is technically +15 gold, since they each cost 1 maintenence anyway.

    Let's Play Civ 5 - India

You play league of legends! I enjoy LoL very much. It looks like you have a lot of Let's Play's on your channel. I'll have to look into a couple.

CivilizationV: The guide of leader flavors!

Very nice! I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not, but you present it in a very easy to read fashion. Thanks! I do believe Bluebird is correct in his assessment. I find that Augustus is usually the big bad guy who conquers city states early.

One of the things that annoys me most about Germany: Brutes don't upgrade into Landsknechts. The one game I played and Germany ended before I got iron working, so I don't know if they upgrade at all, but if they did upgrade into Landsknechts (even if through spears) then the German UA and UU...

    worst civs

Again, this isn't the point of ranking the leaders. Anyone can win a game with any civ at the difficulty level they normally play at. Obviously the list is flawed, as there was an uproar about Gandhi being with Harun and Elizabeth, but if you want to take it as gospel and only play the top tier...

Can a diplomatic victory be avoided?

Interesting. Once the UN is built, the vote is forced. Does anyone know what happens if the UN vote fails? I haven't yet gotten to a difficulty where the AI starts building the UN before I do, nor a difficulty where I could lose the UN vote by getting CS' bribed out from under my gold piles...

    worst civs

See, I haven't played Gandhi, and on first glance, his UU looks like a worse version of the Siam elephant, his UB requires walls to be built (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but not a high priority for me) and his UA appears crippling to any expanding strategy, which is primarily what I...

    worst civs

I think this is the important thing to remember. None of the civs are 'bad' when used to their strengths. Any one of these civs can play to a win on and difficultly level. Ignoring the lack of capital letters, the issue with the Ottomans is that when you play them to their strengths, you'll...
