    Alaska and Vladivostok idea

OK I didn't know that free settler was given to Russia on the discovery of Railroad. Wouldn't it be better to accomplish this in a "standard way", which means via Trading Company? The first reason for this is that completion of TC usually occurs earlier than discovery of railroad. In the...

    Alaska and Vladivostok idea

As a big fan of this magnificient mod, I have noticed that two greater regions on the map are never settled by the nation that have possessed them in the real history. The nation is Russia and the regions are Vladivostok area and southern Alaska. In all my games in DOC (at least 70-80)...

    Optimal start with France (SVN)

Yes, the missionary goes to Blois. I prefer to send two swordsmen available at the start (IIRC) to conquer Bordeaux and then Toulouse right away. These cities can be easily captured with your initial army due to free barb wins. If you´re lucky enough you may even conquer Barcelone and...

    Optimal start with France (SVN)

I prefer settling Blois on the forest as second city, since it gives u access to the Horse, Wheat and Cow after it has expanded to its BFC.

    Optimal City Placement

Last time i played DoC as England was two weeks ago or so, but I didn't update the mod for a long time, so I guess I have an obsolete version of it. There is Indonesia and Mughals but no Poland and apparently no Moors. I've however got some interesting thoughts about Dublin and I think it is...

    Optimal City Placement

England: Southampton and Edinburgh. The third settler goes to Tunis or Morocco. I prefer not to settle Dublin since it lacks production which means a crippled city in the long run. I guess u can get more out of Dublin by whipping it to death, but I´ve never liked this way of playing.

The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I waited two turns but no city has flipped to me. Maybe i didn't wait for long enough?

    More Detailed Colonies

I think the colony maintenance, and possibly hammer cost of the colonies should be connected to the number of colonies already built by a nation. More colonies should lead to higher building and maintenance cost IMO. This will solve the issue when one civ builds the absolute majority of the...

    RFCE OMG! Look what happened!

A small contribution from me... Looks like the French navigators weren't so good in the end of the 13th century... Istead of invading the Holy Land, they invaded Creta!

    Do you still play RAND?

I play RAND since it first came out some time in 2008 or 2010 (i don't remember exactly) and i still play it these days. Last time I played it was during the weekend. I prefer very low likeliness, which i choose 75% of the time. It's like an entirely different Civilization game IMO. If only...

    World War'1948

Thanks a lot! Of course the name of the president should be spelled as Truman. However, not many people will disagree with the statement that Truman was True Man  I don't know if you guys remember the WW79 scenario from Civ2, but that is what i tried to resemble. That scenario was truly a...

    World War'1948

Many things on the map are not geographically correct, take the placement of Canada for instance. I have moved those guys almost up to the polar circle  of course, all the discrepancies are for gameplay convenience

    Easiest way to win?

The victories sorted by difficulty IMO (increasing order): 1) Cultural 2) Diplomatic 3) Domination 4) Space (since one can almost always win earlier with one of the victories above)

    World War'1948 2016-10-05

The Second World War is finally over, and a new world is emerging. It will never be as before, since the new, devastating weapon has been invited - the atomic weapon. The USSR and the US, the two allies in the WW2 are now on the edge of a conflict which will involve every country on the globe...
