    Incorrect Name Change Message

Best not to open it all up again, eh? ;) Surprised of the three lines that was the one that got a response though  Glad to see the forum is still going, I don't get time to play games these days. Or at least the time is used up on other things - raced at Ironman UK this year, for example...

    Incorrect Name Change Message

So, has spearmen vs tanks finally been resolved? Has the rift in the industry/community caused by Alpha Centauri been healed yet? I bet there is some really contentious ISIS mod available too, right?

Let's have a vote: Should the West intervene in Syria?

Doctors, in fact anyone, would have to be insane to walk into a city being gassed.

Let's have a vote: Should the West intervene in Syria?

Assad thinks he can get away with using chemical weapons, a missile strike on the factories (if feasible) would stop the production of weapons and convince them that we're not pissing about. This could deter him from using chemical weapons again - which is the desired outcome.

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

It's a canny political move, but a gamble on Syrian civilians that I couldn't justify. Not the same as the UK because the US hold all the cards anyway. I'm hoping against all reason that they have some insider knowledge of the UN response that mitigates the risk that nothing will be done...

Let's have a vote: Should the West intervene in Syria?

I'm for intervention. I'm interested in the 'how' because its crucial to the justification - what is feasible, and what is the desired outcome? As a message to deter further use of chemical weapons strikes on the weapons factories seems the most obvious - but is it feasible? Are they in...

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

What the shocking report that chemical weapons were used but they can't say who by? So that we can then insist on a UN motion that Russia will veto? By which time its all over one way or the other and God knows how many have died while we were feeling proud about democracy? I'm ashamed of the...

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

Perhaps then I should have been clearer: Does the use of chemical weapons in the conflict between the Syrian government and its rebels justify *external* military intervention?

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

@ReindeerThistle It's interesting that your answer is so specific concerning the US and cruise missiles. If it were not the US or the use of cruise missiles, would you change your stance on intervention ? Also, I'm surprised the 'War on Terror' is a concept you'd support at home or abroad - is...

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

@dexters I wouldn't pretend that there are not other factors driving a decision, but the crux is the same. If gassing civilians does not motivate intervention; How do we enforce the ban? How do we punish breaches of the ban? What, if anything, can motivate external intervention?

Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria

It's been a long time since I posted here, and longer since we discussed the invasion of Iraq. It's good to see that forum posters have become more adept at debate and less prone to strawmen and ad hominem attacks :) Though a few posts came close to Godwin, red_elk ;) A return to the original...

    Ask a Young Earth Creationist.

You mean 9:24? For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. I disagree. It is our eternal life that is saved by sacrificing our earthly life.
