Haven't played for about a year or so. There's so many game modes/settings now. I just want some feedback on your favorite way to play the game.
Edit: Just to clarify I'm mainly asking about the different game modes. There's 6 additional game modes and they can be played simultaneously. So the...
This is a good example though of how the game is really only about science, hammers, and War. Oh your Civ gets a science bonus?: "OP OP OP, needs Nerf". "Oh your civ gets a religious bonus? .... sucks to be you. Civ 6 can't possibly ever be balanced, because the mechanics themselves aren't...
The sign of a good game is one that's simple to pick up, but complicated to master. Civ 6 is precisely the opposite. Overly complicated to a casual, nooby player to the point its daunting. But once you understand the only game mechanics which really matter is science (and culture), military, and...
Before any other changes, I'd fix production. Add 1 production for every 2 citizens. And workshops should give production bonus to every city within 6 tiles just like factory.
I don't know about civ 7, but my Civ 8 game would be really centered around Diplomacy. So as civ is now, everyone in your nation is pretty much your unquestioned slave, where in my ideal civ you'd basically have "lords" or "governors" who if unhappy will rebel. This should be the constant...
DeepMind defeated Starcraft pros 10-1 (with some debatable cheating, but still impressive). So how long do you think until we get a DeepMind level AI for Civ? I would love a civ game where the hardest difficulty, the computer is unbeatable, but without any cheat.
i play marathon with a mod which halves unit cost. that makes it pretty playable. cause otherwise you're completely screwedd anyways. getting 3 DOWs and charged before you've even been able to build your first scout...
tried it again on prince and got it done. It would have been really boring to do it on settler. Gotta have a little fun with it :). But def don't think i could have gotten every unit on a higher difficulty
well my first attempt was on prince. and i was able to get every unit except for the elephant :( I conquered 3 cities on turn 50 and just couldn't get alex down there in time. So i guess ill give it another shot at one less difficulty... if i had 3 more turns. that would have been cake... but oh...
Create a new forum under the civ 6 tab strictly for scenario play/strategy.
but while i'm here, So I'm trying to catchup on all my scenarios, what seems to be the general strategy for macedon scenario on deity? just get lots of companions and go?
I guess that really depends on what difficulty you're playing on. I mean on Prince you can basically do w.e. you want and find a way to win, so then you're actually making meaningful decisions and evaluating options. On higher difficulties the only decisions you make early game are superficial...
I play at 0.5 tech speed (research takes twice as long), which has really helped. Still got had calvary units running around the 1500s my last game, but the dates don't really matter. I just wanna be able to actually use all the units. Additionally I use mods which half the production costs of...
Yeah np. I actually used to do modern quite often. Good way to get a game in a short amount of time, but on a small map with less players b/c otherwise the AI doesn't do anything with their settlers (they may have fixed that bug in the last update; I haven't really played much since then). But...
