Cheap money-grab game, costly mod, reskin, displaying a fraction of talent from earlier releases. Just throw the ip in the toilet, don't take your playerbase through it.
Yeh, well, simple things amuse simple minds. People take money from simple people all the time.
There you go, mods, a real reason to hand me a couple infractions, dim bastards.
Please find a way to express your discontent with CivBE without trolling others and baiting staff. This is not...
Cheap shot. You're trying to discredit my opinion by insinuating it's petty and baseless. I'm not "angry about a computer game". I'm angry because I've followed this series for over 20 years.
Civ 1, novel game, easy to exploit hitting spacebar on settlers so as to finish multi-turn tasks in...
The developers have had years of experience with the Civ 5 ai. There's no excuse for the ai to be so inarticulate that it can only win by sheer attrition. It's an embarrassment.
I agree with the op. The game, for many reasons, is bad, poorly thought out, poorly implemented. I'm amazed the shills haven't gotten this thread locked yet. I expressed my disdain on 8 other gaming sites in the last 24 hours with scathing reviews and I've been warning my friends not to bother...
There are a number of other games with this same mechanism and premise. It used to be "other games try to emulate Civilization", now it's the other way around. Saddening. We're witnessing the decline of the civ franchise with unimaginative money grabs. I'm not interested in Sid Meier Starships...
He doesn't have a legitimate question. Describing my communication as "chiming" is patronizing, and he further insinuated my position on the game didn't have a place as its own thread. He's belittling my point of view in a subtle way from the beginning, and I countered it with sarcasm. You don't...
lol. BE has fanbois? That's cool and all, but I'm not one of them.
The thread name is a quote from a hostile ai opponent in game I hadn't seen before today.
So sorry I offended your senses, deputy forum police guy, but I'm a special snowflake who reports bugs, so once in awhile I need my own...
This is the third time I've revisited the game, between long stints of returning to Civ 5. Civ BE, compared to Civ 5, is tedious, with long barren wastes between opponents and long, barren durations between action. Then once in awhile something, like a quote, makes me smile.
Firaxis has so...
With the mechanism of "what trade routes are" and "what trade routes mean to an economy" in this game, I genuinely feel the trade route building must be constructed, not bought. It's not a huge turn difference because surrounding cities can send production via trade routes and this diversion is...
I think it's a good patch. As was said, the main issues were the overpowered trade routes and apathy to health. These issues were fixed in a big way and they took a stab at a few more.
I think the worms kinda meander about and if you happen to be in the space they move to, you get wrecked, unless you have explorer/trade route protection. Otherwise, I see them get protective at 3 hexes from a nest, and more-so at 1 or 2 spaces.
Even if there are 500 people bragging competing to win deity faster, that is not broad public. You're looking through a lens of people who participate on a fansite, here.
I think in this state/version, apollo is too easy, too, but this is going to be echoed by 20,000 dedicated fans of turn based strategy 4x. What about the other 300k people you'll never hear from on these forums, to whom they want to sell the game.
It's not hard to kill a player in any game. If...
This is what I think after winning 4 games on soyuz various ways and once on apollo, with less mentionable wins at lower difficulties.
With the state of the game as it is, there's no real reason to have more than 5 cities on any size map, unless you just feel like it. 5 is even overkill really...
