    Pre-PallasNES: Vive le Republique

The independence of new nations in Latin America from Spanish rule could have gone many ways. This is one of them. Not quite an answer, but that's all I care to say. Setting a limit to how much EP you can spend, lest an inexperienced player takes a nation and spends all the credits and disappears.

    Pre-PallasNES: Vive le Republique

I'm still hashing out various systems. I think I'll add a rule either halving or halting EP income growth in order to make your nation less influenceable. Much like North Korea of today or Tibet of yesteryear. PIP costs will now be in IP. I'm thinking of adding several categories of...

How do you determine labor demand? And uh, wouldn't rising efficiencies lead to widespread unemployment? How are workers paid?

I'd like a 1910 map. Not in Symphonic style please.

    There's No Time to Explain!

... I suddenly woke up. It must have been all a dream. I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Then suddenly I blacked out...

I actually have a half-done ruleset founded upon forming a guerrilla group in the 70s and overthrowing the government. The problem is somehow figuring out how to move from detailed battles/terrorism to abstract overall terrorism of guerrilla warfare, to forming actual warlord states.

Aren't NESes about three kinds of interaction: story, economy, and war? Arguably diplomacy is simply maneuvering for the next war in a forum game.

The burden of complying with taxes are typically levied on companies, not the state. For example, you have to do your own income taxes. The state does not do it for you. Besides, where do you think industry gets money to expand itself? Profits. The armaments industry will still have to charge...

Small comment: there's another issue about modeling: calculations. A moderator is not a machine. He can only make so many floating point operations per minute. After a certain point in a complex or expansive game, he'll make errors or go mad. Ironically, increasing taxes on war industry just...

    Paradox Interactive games

The only problem with HoI3 is the Russian front (it's absurdly huge, and I hate leaving the AI to do what I could) and British not garrisoning it's central provinces (makes invasion too easy). And then there is the problem that major balancing fixes for the game are released via expansion. So...

I know. I'd run one, but I'd like to make sure I have the time to not only make the stats (oh dear god post-war decolonization... maybe I'll do an alt hist consolidating decolonized nations), but to run the game.

More outline of potential rules: nations can either invest in foreign nations or establish foreign enterprises and invest in those. Note that right now in RL the US is investing in China. However China has restrictions on keeping profits in China and controls on business operations. As a...

Some spacecraft design rules I made. The rockets are generic simply for simplicity, and the fact that rocket design is rather bland uninteresting. Alternative rockets could also be researched, such as Project Orion, however it runs the risk of catastrophic failure (geologists and engineers...

    LONESlite: The Bloody Business

To: Lithuania, Estonia From: Latvia We suggest a military alliance to curb against potential German or Russian aggression. I'll send in order tommorow, when I could send PMs. Failing that, I'll post it in this thread. Not like I'm carrying out some grand secret scheme.
