Oh wow thanks for the heads up DSpirit. I've visited the results page many times, but somehow missed those files. What a great map.
Someday I hope to finish one of these GOTMs as they were meant to be played, submit a save, and be a participant rather than just an onlooker. Sure is a lot of...
Hi -
I must have played this map about a dozen times till 800ADish. Like the others, Kublai was just too overpowering. Obviously replaying a game isn't the point of GOTM, but I'm a very casual player, still learning, explore many of the GOTMs and was very intrigued by the map. Very nice...
ah those numbers make sense. Guess the tech requirements are about equivalent as well. Cavs sound like the go-to unit if there was one in the game.
I've played about a dozen civ4 games now but haven't had a game last long enough to get the opportunity to try out Cavs. I keep telling myself...
Alan H helped me get my game configured right and now I am good to go for this month!
Agree, that is a nice start. Funny reading comments about evil mapmakers :). I'm too new to have experienced this yet.
Musketeer 2 movement points = cheaper than cavs + the defense bonus. Sounds...
Unfortunately I have some game settings/installation files botched on my computer so have to resolve these before turning in games.
Until then, just wanted to say that I had a fun time with the map and thnx for putting this together. I am learning a lot from playing these community...
Those are nice scores. Always fun to check out these saved games and see the different games.
Thought I submitted my game in the proper place, but guess not? I think Jovan was faster tho by a few turns (840AD for me I think). Oh well it was fun. Will try to figure out where I went wrong.

Thnx for link. I'm still learning how to work specialists, but this is very helpful. Am trying out the GOTM75 and would be a big help to be able to bulb some tech that's for sure.

I think around 900ADish?
Look forward to playing next game.
fun game. Thought I could make it in one sitting all the way to 1AD, but had to take a break around 900BC. This definitely seems to take longer. :crazyeye:
1st time playing GOTM, Vanilla, and Marathon! :) Pretty new to game and having fun learning. I am just cheesing as I did in my WOTM...
That's a lot of desert (appropriate for race)!
I haven't played on the Marathon speed yet alone large maps. I'll give it a shot and see if my laptop can handle it. :)
Haven't done a cultural game yet so might give that a shot as others have suggested as well (Civipedia here I come)...
Thnx for such a fun game. :)
I prob got away with my cheesy play because the map was so linear. I basically just blindly pushed my cats-sword-axe-chariots down the alley until they hit the end. Would have been slaughtered with this strat if had spawned in middle of continent.
My...
I feel kinda dumb after reading all of this as am probably playing the English all wrong and not taking advantage of the income/tech. Instead, I'm out bashing Ai's with stone age units lol.

Thnx ZPV.
Wasn't sure if I was doing this correctly as was confused by those "Session start" logs in the replays at those continuations. So I guess those are normal logs when you resume your game? I was under the impression that Session restart logs only represented games that had been...
Hi civfanatics.com :)
Just got a "new" to me laptop that can finally handle some of these more "modern" games that been dying to try out lol.
New to Civ4, but have been playing a few of the older WOTMs for the past month. The maps have been really well put together and been having...
