Does the 25% bonus from the National Epic matter if you're only making one great person point per turn. I see that I get the bonus but the tracker still says +1 point per turn. Not +1.25 or anything like that.
I completely agree. If you look up the list of diplomatic modifiers possible you'll see that negative modifiers outnumber positive ones about 3 or 4 to one. This means that it's much easier for a Civ to not like you than like you. Add to that that there are so many ways for you to help a Civ...
I was wondering how long negative diplomatic modifiers last for. For instance, how long must you be at peace before people no longer think you are a war mongerer? How long until they finally let go that you denounced a friendly civ?
I think global warming should be something that affects the game in the last era. Considering we're already starting the feel serious affects from it now it seems like something that would be pertinent to a game like Civ.
Perhaps as the game is nearing an end you start seeing stats of...
Is there a way for the player to see the breakdown of that list at anytime? Whenever I go to the demographics screen all it tells me is who is in first and last and what the average is.
I was kind of curious how many years each turn represents in a standard length game. I know that the first few turns represent hundreds of years and by the end 2 turns equals one year (I believe). Does anybody know what the breakdown is on that specifically?
I was wondering what makes a city-state attack other cities. I've seen a single city-state take down half of a civ's cities. What makes them decide to invade other lands? It would be nice to use them as a proxy to conquer their neighbors while I enjoy the resources they are now collecting from...
I thought a good idea for a new tile improvement would be tank traps. I'm thinking of the ones that look like jacks.
It would become available in the industrial era and it's purpose would be to slow the movement of all mechanized units by making them expend extra movement points to pass...
Can we agree that if you're on a small continent with three aggressive civs that it is impossible to win?
I was playing on king mode and was on a very small continent with China, Songhai, and Greece. I knew that a DOW was coming by turn 50 so I decided to build my outermost city in an easily...
I noticed that the machine and gattling gun units have the same melee as ranged damage and only have a range of 1. Is the idea behind these units that they are a front line defender and the single hex range is meant to punish anybody who dares attack them head on?
It seems like a unit...
Does the AI have the all seeing eye or something? I have noticed through numerous playthroughs that when the AI gets aircraft they seem to be able to hit where ever they want regardless if they have an actual line of sight to their target. My units are 7 to 8 tiles away from their nearest city...
I'm sure this has been discussed here before but I'm having trouble searching for it on the forums.
What's the trick to demanding something from an AI and actually getting it. In my current game I have a large army from the Industrial Era on the border with Japan who only has a few units...
I was wondering if there was a strategy people had for getting the Order SP track completed as early as possible? Whenever I go for it I usually complete it just a few turns before the game ends, if at all. This of course is kind of useless and I was wondering if people had a strategy for...
I was wondering what people usually try to do when they are on a crowded continent and are going for either a tech or diplo victory.
Obviously both these victories require you to have a good sized empire which means you want to take the liberty policy track and plop as many cities down as...
Is there a diplomatic trick to appeasement?
For instance, if Rome is sitting next to me is there a way for me to give him enough gold or resources to keep off of my back? From what I can tell the AI has a binary system for diplomacy. It's either "His country borders mine; invade him" or...
