Civ 6 Deity Tier List –– discussing DLC civs now, R&F civs starting 2/19

Great assessment, OP. I think I mostly agree with it. Regarding America, though, while I do think C tier is the right place currently, I do think Founding Fathers is underrated, and has the potential to make big plays. The one thing that's making Founding Fathers rather useless is the fact that...

Buy now or wait until updates/fixes?

Here's how I see it. It's not perfect, but it's fun. You can have fun with it now, then when the fixes come, you can appreciate how much better it is, even though it was already good. The AI does have odd moments, but it also has moments of genius. It will never be perfect. Waiting for that is...

    Starting virtues beyond Prosperty?

I've actually had a lot of good games with Might. Science for aliens and nest kills is amazing early on, and the affinity boost gets you those unit upgrades fast. Yeah I still get prosperity for the early colonist, but might is a great way to turn soldiers into beakers, which makes it much...

What is the most balanced warmonger civ?

Yes, as it turns what would be a money sinker into a money generator. It can help pay for other improvements or units, which is very helpful early game.

    I did it! YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!

Babylon Science was my first Deity win too. :) Relish in the glory, for you have earned it. You have joined an elite club, but soon it will feel like just the first step into a whole new world of challenges. Soon, you'll pine for more, and win your second Deity game. Then, you'll win your third...

Rate the Tenets - part II: Autocracy Tenets

Level 1 tenets 3 - Elite Forces: Wounded Military Units inflict 25% more damage than normal. Most noticeable with Air units, which are the bread and butter of endgame wars. It reduces the penalty they get for attacking while damaged, so they can last much longer before having to stop for...

Gandhi's UA is it good or bad?

Actually, because of how his UA is designed, it actually gets stronger in wide empires than tall empires. It's supposed to make tall empires make more sense by doubling the per-city unhappiness from 3 to 6 and halving per-pop unhappiness, but even though unhappiness per pop is halved, happiness...

    A fix for 1UPT and 1GPR

The more you say things like this, the more it really looks like you want Civ IV. Sorry to parrot everyone else, OP.

Please help me choose an Ideology

Order also has a policy that increases your tourism output against other Order civs, so I don't see the problem here.

    Religion Weighting Early Game

If you want a pantheon, you'll want to build your first shrine ASAP, potentially before the monument (but even on Deity, I often build the monument first), and if you want a religion, you either need a faith-generating pantheon belief, or Stonehenge, or a high-faith natural wonder like Uluru or...

    Marines

The civilopedia even says they're stronger, when they're not, so I think they're meant to be stronger... and aren't.

    Blimey, talk about immersion...

Since the patch, I've noticed that several AIs aren't using generic, canned responses, but instead say things that the actual leader might say. Monty's are some of the funniest. "Opening your borders will make it easier for me to bring home sacrifices. I'm sure it will help you somehow, as well!"

Rocket Artillery: A bit too good against cities

But they do have one MAJOR disadvantage that none of those other units have: they are very, very slow. 1-2 hexes per turn without a road, tied with foot soldiers for slowest units in the game. When you're playing Deity and the clock is ticking, say you're about to CV, but have to kill off...

Poll: What is the worst Natural Wonder to settle?

Actually, in many games since the fall patch, I HAVE seen Krakatoa spawn in a workable location from the mainland. It might actually be fixed now.

Poll: What is the worst Natural Wonder to settle?

The thing about Old Faithful is that it gives you +2 happiness just for having it in your borders, which is quite nice - there's no need to work it. Grand Mesa gives no food, and is basically worth an unimproved hill lux.

    Any new approaches for Japan?

They're not supposed to. During the beta, they didn't, and devs said this was the intended behavior. I used a single samurai to rebuild whole bunches of fishing boats over the course of a deity culture win. If it's not working now, something broke.

If a new patch/dlc/expansion came out tomorrow what would you like to see added?

It's called R.E.D. Modpack. It also scales down the units so they're not quite as large (unless they need to be, which gives those units a sense of hugeness). There's also a version that includes only the reskins, and another that decreases the size of units even more (but that one glitches unit...

    Ultra Pilliage

Once, I had some start next to all the tundra and blank plains, and on the other side of the continent is Shaka, and he has several much closer neighbors. Guy declares friendship with me. I think, huh, maybe he just has bigger fish to fry. Nope. About 5 turns later, he declares war and has a...

    Ultra Pilliage

They're supposed to, but they weren't working when the fall patch was in beta. It's probably fixed now so that they do stack.
