I was thinking that they would hire him to do Caesar dialogue, but alas. In the video he actually says that he is open for cooperation, so let's hope Firaxis contact him. I think Ambiorix sounding French is intentional, because of substratum. Do you have a link?

My knowledge of German is basic, but this sounds to me like Hochdeutsch, not Bairisch.

Actually I was wondering this too, why translators are not present during the recording, this would eliminate a lot of mistakes and misreadings. Or at least make the VA and the translator to read through the text together. By this some simple misreading mistakes can be avoided (for example...

Just played two quick games: One to meet Muhteşem Suleiman in the game - the Greeting subtitles and spoken words are the same as with old (Kanuni) Suleiman and the quote from Civilopedia is certainly a new recording. Another to meet Sultan Saladin - his Greeting is back from generic one to the...

Time-appropriate for him then, and I hope a proper one. If so - nice job on behalf of Firaxis.

Certainly Persian, although I don't know the language to understand if it's modern or not.

Nothing new, this is the old line and old animation, just the new look. What I noticed though, is that in Sultan Saladin's spotlight the subtitles were the same as of his base game persona, but it got changed in the game. I stumbled upon one comment under snowgigas's video with animation for...

I'm not sure what you meant here. They did write new lines for the Sultan persona, they just, for some reasons (the voice actor wasn't available?), didn't translate and voice them in Arabic. What they did is just reuse the existing files, even leaving the mistakenly switched "Attacked" and...

Japanese for sure, but did they try to get it more era specific?

Another thing that I noticed: subtitles in Caesar "Defeated" line is the famous quote from Shakespeare's play - "Et tu, Brute? Then fall Caesar!". I suppose "Et tu" is already in Latin, but the voice actor says something different, I wonder why. At least their agendas differ, so they can't. One...

Can I add these new transliteration to Fandom page? Too bad they didn't hire Luke, I was kind of counting on it, especially because he expressed that he is open for hire. :( Seems to be fixed now. And as of new Saladin's persona - did they just slap new subtitles and kept the old audio files?

According to a post in another thread highly likely that it's indeed Kimbundu. Although I would still wait till somebody who knows the language confirms.

Sultan Saladin teaser. The greeting line is the same as in the base version, but the Civilopedia quote is new. It is actually the quote that inspired his defeated line, taken from one of the translation of Baha ad-Din ibn Shaddad's work The Rare and Excellent History of Saladin. A more...

Greeting line by Lincoln. And I guess "Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?" is his Civilopedia quote, since it's attributed to him. Hopefully this weekend we will get Nzinga Mbande's trailer and could see what language she speaks. And also there will be Ceaser, obviously...

I just remembered that he was of Turkic origin, born in Dargaz which is located on border with Turkmenistan. The closest relative of the Turkic language he spoke is modern Turkmen, so maybe he will speak some lines in it.

Time to revive this thread I guess. So what we can expect with new leaders: Abraham Lincoln - American English Mbande Nzinga - I guess Lingala, same as Mvemba a Nzinga Tokugawa - most probably same as Hojo Tokimune, classical form of Japanese. Or maybe they will try to do a more period...
