I have been hearing a lot of good things about Civ VI until recently. Kind of surprised but not really. Civ games aren't great at launch, they take a little time to mature. By time I mean patches and expansions. Have not played VI yet, my computer can't possibly handle it.

Amazing how much has changed since this post. For one, we're up to 160 turns. We have nearly 700 members.

I am hearing a few reports of this problem in the last few days, and I am having it personally. I'm seeing what I can figure out.

Seems a lot of people, myself included are having this. I'm trying to find common links, and so far it seems to be happening in vanilla after the latest patch. Maybe post a dxdiag to see if this is happening with specific hardware or such.

Tried unsubscribing from mods, then resubscribing? Sometimes Steam workshop can get a little crazy, and unsubscribing from something and then subscribing again can get it working. Also, although it is time consuming, try unsubscribing from everything, deleting the mods if they aren't...

Um, not sure what this has to do with halloween, and OPs issue was months ago. In any case, the problem is, I think, you are loading a DLC mod, the Year of Viking Destiny one, which is for a scenario. Disabling that should get the game working...

Probably an issue with the mods, not the game. I suggest turning them off, then loading them one at a time to see which one or ones are breaking the game.
