    Better Piety?

The trouble with piety is it's a gamble and, as many people here note, not a very sensible one because a) the culture yield is tenuous and b) religious tolerance is underpowered. Tradition and liberty have more tangible, shorter-term bonuses. I'd suggest that the piety opener should give...

Can You Win Any Victory With Any Ideology?

It's not just possible to win every kind of victory with every ideology, it's quite probable. That's because the ideology feature is, for the most part, underpowered. It needs a serious boost--third tier tenets should be really awesome, and I find that they are often rather meh.

Impi upgrades -- Does the party go on?

I'm playing my 2nd BNW game with the Zulu. The Impi is by far the most impressive unit I've seen so far, and the unit maintenance bonus means you can field a devastating army in the classical and medieval periods. So here's the question. Do the unique Zulu promotions -- those from the Ikanda...

    Enrico speaks real Venetian

Suleyman speaks modern Turkish, not the Persian- and Arabic-infused Ottoman variety. And it's a really lame piece of voice acting. I turn mute on when I interact with him, it's that bad.

Civs Without a Religion Building Religious Wonders?

I see the same in my Venice game. Suleyman is sitting on top of 2 great prophets. Indonesia's leader is called The Pious but there are no religious followers in his cities anywhere :D

    Christian Schisms?

I wish the devs had put some more thought into the schism business. They already came up with reformation beliefs, so I don't understand why they didn't create a mechanic to split a religion you are following, giving you part of the original package plus a new founder's belief and a new...

Wonders that look best on the map

In ascending order of visual awesomeness, for me they are: - The Oracle (though it's a bit too Heroes of Might and Magic-y) - Angkor Wat - Sydney Opera House (when it's jutting southwards) - Machu Picchu - Mausoleum of Halicarnassus What do other people think?

Wonders that look worst on the map

Notre Dame just doesn't have to disappear among skyscrapers. There's a huge plaza around it, and it's the tallest structure in its neighborhood. Besides, even before skyscrapers it just doesn't look majestic enough. I know that Victory is supposed to be there, perched on top of the gate. But...

Wonders that look worst on the map

I really like the CiV map. Cities feel alive, units feel alive, the ocean shines on the horizon... But... But the wonders... Some of them, the coolest ones even, are a few tiny ugly dots. So much work to build them, and they look so... unsatisfactory. Which ones? My list, in ascending...

Is spying horribly unbalanced or what?

I find that AI is pretty smart in spying, and I actually like that. It beehives into a tech it really wants, and then steals earlier ones from someone appropriate. If you haven't beelined but are still leading the tech race, of course all AI civs will try to steal from you. Some will succeed...

Civ V - One World Speculation Thread!

I so hope that colonization (as opposed to settling cities the normal way) will be there. And some revolution mechanic. I wouldn't mind more espionage options either--sabotaging production, blowing up buildings, assassinating scientists, badmouthing and framing other civs, causing unrest...

Wonders you would like to see in Civilization V

I think cure for cancer should be a project that massively boosts pop growth. It could be unlocked at plastics. I would like to see Hollywood as a national wonder. Mt Rushmore definitely, Empire State sure. Can be convinced that Hadron Collider is a good idea if a suitable bonus is found--one...

    Trading and shipping food

If first-time players is an issue, the whole thing could be optional--food transportation could be accessed in the advanced setup before launching a new game. I'm assuming a new expansion will eventually arrive, of course. I like the plague thing; I hadn't thought of it. Is that already...

    Trading and shipping food

I wonder why food is a strictly local good in CiV. With the exception of maritime city-states, all the food consumed in a city is locally produced, down to the information era. While that is rather healthy given what we know now ;) , it is not exactly how civilization developed. And trading food...

    Recalling to life

I think the problem could be solved by allowing techs to be traded. If you really want to prop a civ up, you can gift them some techs. (If they take your gift and then sail to other waters, well, that's a risk you take, like any other. In fact, I think it would be really cool if recalled civs...

    Favorite Ancient World Wonder

I was undecided between Stonehenge and the Pyramids, but come to think of it, it must be Stonehenge. When you build it early, it guarantees a religion with the best beliefs AND it also ensures you'll get a great engineer you can use for the Pyramids.
