Do you build monuments when going for tradition?

I never build monuments in BNW in my early cities, for pretty much the same reason as Makavcio. The extra scout is almost always more valuable to me than the early monument, whether I find more ruins or more civilizations/city-states.

    BNW Deity Tier List

That's only if those capitals are on another continent, and only if I haven't founded my own spice islands. That's also a super small benefit compared to the unhappiness you'll eat for taking a capital. Of course, the UA is the least of Indonesia's problems.

    BNW Deity Tier List

Indonesia is just a really poorly designed civ, and even on a water oriented map, I'd rather play the real naval civs, which is a shame.

    BNW Deity Tier List

I like Polynesia, but I'm not sure how a single image will convince anyone that they're better than this list implies, especially since your location is ridiculously good. I don't know if they deserve to be on the same tier as garbage civs Indonesia and Denmark, but they aren't that great.

Couple of months since release - do you still want more content?

I'm pretty happy with the game now, though I'd love to see a few more DLC civs. The only thing that really NEEDS to happen for me besides a few general balance tweaks here and there is a revamp for some of the older civs, which has already been confirmed. I love the variety of civs at the...

    Brave New World reviews

When a reviewer ends an review of an expansion of a game by saying that the game is still fundamentally broken, why is he reviewing the expansion? Most people wouldn't agree with that view, and anyone who holds it will obviously be dissatisfied with an expansion. The central bucket analogy only...

Countdown to Brave New World Pack

I think they do a preload, you should be able to download it tomorrow.

Do we want a third expansion and/or more DLC for Civ 5?

Dear Firaxis, Please switch Mali back in for Songhai, or have them both. Mansa Musa is simply one of the ballingest rulers in the history of human civilization and it's a shame that he got snubbed this time. Sincerely, Some dude from the internet

There is a sticky at the top of this forum for that exact purpose.

Is there a civ that doesn't deserve to be in Civilization?

lol. if any thread deserves such ridiculous trolling, i guess it's this one. You are responsible for what you quote. This quote, as well as your accusation of trolling, makes you a troll as well. Please report the post and then ignore it in future.

There will be a third expansion and/or more DLC for Civ5?

It certainly implies finality, although I figure they'll reevaluate once they've got some sales figures in their hands.

What is your least favorite BNW civilization

The tradition thing is basically the only justification I've seen for the inclusion of the Zulu, even from Firaxis. Not really a great reason, but we all knew it was coming.

What is your least favorite BNW civilization

I dunno why you're saying no offense, especially there are a bunch of Sub-Saharan African civilizations that aren't simply "tribes," so that's not a real response to truenarnian's comment. I think the Zulu are pretty boring as well and think there are better choices, but I think Poland is my...

I'm fatigued and slowly losing interest...

Then adjust your expectations. Too much anticipation can ruin your enjoyment pretty easily, so why not focus on something else? It's not that far away.

Making of "Brave New World" - article from Polygon

A bit, but it's nice to get a more incisive look at Firaxis' thought process, and it's a good way to spill the info on the last two civs. Even though they didn't make Sacagawea the leader, I have to laugh a little bit that they even considered her. Too bad about the Pueblos, since I'm still kind...

    Civ 5: Civilizations/Leaders Wanted!

I'm late on this, but I like it generally. Using unemployed specialists is interesting, and unique, if a little bit counter intuitive. I kind of get the feeling I'm not versed enough in specialist play, but I'm having a tough time getting a handle on how powerful their bonuses are. Also, this is...

    Civ 5: Civilizations/Leaders Wanted!

I do, and I was trying to create them with a specific style, although I didn't explain myself too much. I'm trying to make them a mid-late game civilization that specializes in rapidly boosting their production with the Golden Stool and the use of drummers. I don't have a particularly victory...

    Civ 5: Civilizations/Leaders Wanted!

re: the Kente Weaver, the bonuses would be on top of the normal Workshop's benefits, and the silk and cotton is the secondary bonus - the main feature is supposed to be the doubling of the bonuses if the building is in a city that has the Golden Stool. I felt that that was almost too...

Brave New World's 9 new Civs

Yeah, if Belgium didn't get in now, they're never getting in. Nobody wants it, and their most likely/well-known leader is pretty actively sh*t on by the community whenever he's brought up (rightly so).
