Someone on the comment session of the video on Youtube said something that I agree: "Basically in the game he passed from a liberator to an oppressor"
I felt that his military bonus should at least be tied to a defensive or reactive stance, but I guess that would overlap too much with Australia
I found their set of abilities too militaristic to my taste. A little malus to loyalty under specific circunstances would probably make them more balanced, interesting and historically accurate
The thing with the combo Gran Colombia/Bolivar is much more about the legacy of a political and revolutionary movement of continental proportions than about a country and its leader.
Most of the time I show the game to someone new and try to convince they to play, the reaction I get is that the game overwhelm them with so much mechanics. I know that feeling from when I first tried Endless Legend. Civ 6 mechanics are sufficient to me, although I wouldn't complain if they...
Oh, how I wished that the "2 civilizations/2 leaders" actually meant 2 new civs with their own leaders and also 2 alternate leaders for existing civs. Only 3 alternate leaders until now is far too little use for this mechanic.
Also, very nice to see some references to Beyond Earth! I really loved that game and I'm happy to see they are trying to reutilize some of its features (favors). Hopefully, it will be better implemented.
Wow
I bought civ 6/Rise and Fall some time ago and until very recently failed to get engaged with the game. I started to wonder: "now that I'm playing like crazy, I bet they'll add a new expansion and I won't be able to play anymore in anticipation".
And I was right.
Jefferson would be a nice pick for America.
I wouls also like to see Russia with Ivan the Terrible and Lenin; Germany with Frederick II and Kaiser Wilhelm I.
Japan with Emperor Meiji
America with Lincoln or Washington
Kongo with Nzinga Ndongo
France with Louis XIV (Napoleon is already a Great General, but that could change)
I'm a little worried with each leader having its own color. Sure, play one against the other will be cool, but it also mean less and less color options for new civs. I'd prefer if they only changed the border color or the tone of the main color.
Happy to see a few Brazilians this time (Antônio Carlos Gomes and Joaquim Marques Lisboa, more know as the Tamandaré Admiral). It was disappointing to see Brazil in Civ V gaining bonus to great artists/writers/musicians while having 0 representation on the list.
So why do you think some of the first civs to be presented are missing in those streams? If it were only Brazil I would hope for a little reworking on Pedro's face just like they did with Roosevelt. But then I don't know why France, China and Egypt did not show up.
Some of us were already wondering about this symbol:
Now Ed Beach just tweeted "So is there any truth to these reports of mysterious shipwrecks in Civilization VI?" with a link of the discovering of the HMS Terror remains.
Following a mechanic already used in Beyond Earth, it might be...
