I don't think that the animation is so mucho importanté. I would get sick and tired of watching my engineers dig and dig and dig...etc. when performing task... if they wanna do some animation it better be discrete and not drawing attention from the actual game... just airing my beliefs...

Gfx is second to gameplay for sure, i mean... you can't marvel at your animated pikeman forever, and how many civ players actually see the wondermovie when they build the pyramid for the 11020349567334212 th time??? gfx is not what keeps civ going, it is the gameplay! but of course it wouldn't...
