Playing rise and fall as ghengis khan, i had a level 7 field cannon army that could fire twice per turn. There was nothing for it to do the second fire, but didn't have option to skip turn. It halted game and had to reload from the last autosave 7 turns previous. Save of problem included...

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to do the challenge. I may be pretty unavailable soon. Just took dad to ER yesterday and he has a brain tumor. Mom's gone, so it's just up to me....All my siblings live out of state.

When exactly do we need to build the caravel? 1st thing? I'd hate to delay rexing...And if our capital is not going to be coastal our second city really needs to have the worker and lots of potential hammers to get it out to get the circumnavigation bonus. Are we willing to take the worker...

What about 1 E with the settler. Would have 4 food sources and be a powerhouse for greatpeople. Also would have iron and 1 gold for some hammer production (edited number of golds and foods - miscalcualted...Not as good of idea as I'd initially thought)

From what I can tell, 'that control alt o' white text floats periodically at the bottom of the screen while you play. I went into it once, but didn't select anything as I don't know what to do with it. Seems to play ok without customizing.

My best test so far was the one where I didn't adopt a religion. Let me trade better and not get dogpiled in a religious war. These are the only intermediate saves I made. (The last one after I launched all nukes at one city and had them all shot down by SDI) I'm very rusty with Civ due...

Does SDI stop all nukes getting through? I played a game and sent 10 nukes at one city and NONE got through. It was the first turn of the war. I"m gonna be hurting if I continue on. My army's no match for theirs. I was expecting to hurt their troops big time, but I didn't. I can't find...

I tend to not build a lot of spies, but in this game, espionage could be cruicial to keep AI's cities/resources plundered. edit: and if we are far enough in front of them with ep points, we can see what they're researching and choose something they aren't so we have better chance of trade.

I failed with the test game... no oil or uranium in my borders. Can't make nukes/attack modern units with rifles. Can't capture cities with those resources until nukes....Hope gyathaar took this into account. And the ai's with extra were my worst enemy...no chance of a trade.

Checking in. Tried a nuke game last night, but couldn't figure out what required techs are needed to make nukes. Had the manhattan project build.....didn't have flight or artillery. Tried beelining to the nuclear tech.....It didn't work.

I got BtS finally loaded on my computer :dance:[party]:band::beer:..... BUT I am so rusty it's not believable. ....:eek:

I bought a registry cleaner and used it and it still won't install BtS. Regular Civ4 and warlords are ok. *sighs* I guess I'm out of the competition. Good luck.

I had to restore my computer to factory original - wiped all programs. No other restore options worked (happened after McAffe did an update of my virus software and asked if I wanted to restart to get it to take effect...I said yes and my comp was fried). I defragged the hard drive and...

I've defragged my hard drive and uninstalled and reinstalled civ4 and warlords, but still can't get BtS to install. I guess I have to drop out. :(

Thanks, I'll try it. I did the only restore option I could from the menu. My computer is much slower. I'll try the defrag and check disk. Thanks :)

Can anyone give me a clue on what I'm doing wrong to reload BtS? It goes through what appears to be a normal install shield wizard, but at the end of it, the program isn't there and searching for 'beyond*' can't find it. No shortcut got placed. It's almost like it's still in a temporary file...

OK, I"m back, and can play after CP, but I need to find my disks to reload everything.....Including my software for my wireless router. Will post again when that's done.
