    Can you eradicate a religion?

The only way to truly eradicate a religion from a Holy City (assuming the Holy City is also a Capital) is to capture that city and then use an Inquisitor to remove the heathen belief from your civ. Once you do this, the Holy City will no longer be a source of pressure for that religion.

    BUG: Multiple Space Race Bugs

    1. Load the game. The human player is named Marcus. 2. Open the event log. 3. July 2009 shows that the Dutch had completed their Stasis Chamber immediately followed by a note that 'Marcus' had launched his spaceship (BUG #1). Marcus actually did not launch, and at the time of this save...

Freezes when opening diplomacy screen - recurring problem

I have a very similar problem except that it's research related and not diplomacy related. It also only occurred when I played multiplayer. I posted the bug in this thread... http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=133388

Multiplayer locks when selecting new research...

Loaded Civ4 and entered a multiplayer game created by a friend. 3 humans, 3 AI. Simultaneous. Everything seemed to run fine except when I, and only I, would have to do 'anything tech related.' For example, I would discover a new tech and the popup would appear asking me what to research...

    [Col] combats

By the way, for people wondering how best to run Colonization under WinXP (I use the original DOS version of Colonization), I just use the WinXP compatibility mode (select Win95) and I have no problems playing the game at all (except that I don't have any sound...but oh well, at least the game...

    [Col] combats

Wow! Thanks Brut! Nice job! :goodjob: This not only solves the 'combat streak bug', but also the fountain of youth bug that I referenced in the original thread... http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=91531 It looks like they were both stuck on that same random number...

Combat and Fountain of Youth Bugs

Just to let anyone reading this thread know, Brut has solved and fixed BOTH the combat streak bug and the fountain of youth bug! Turns out they were both due to a problem related to generating random numbers. Brut explains how to 'patch' your game in this thread...

    Stupid bug in windows version.

    Oh...I gotcha now

    Stupid bug in windows version.

This is an intended feature of the game and not a bug. Indian converts have great experience working with the land and therefore get a bonus. They have little to no experience working in manufacturing and therefore receive a penalty.

Inside Soren's Presentation (Some Real Gems!)

I'm going to have to cast a vote for the "Civ won't jump genres" as well. I mean, at it's very soul, Civ is a turn-based strategy game. If you morph the franchise into an RTS game, for example, then we'll never actually get to see Civ4...only Rise of Nations 2. And I can't imagine Firaxis...

Combat and Fountain of Youth Bugs

I recently hauled out my DOS version of Colonization (version 3.0) and installed it on WinXP. Using compatibility mode the game works pretty well...the sound doesn't work, but the game is very stable, so I can't complain. I have run into a couple of bugs though, and I wondered if anyone else...

    Foistware from CFC?

Well, how about three people then? This afternoon, just as I was entering the CFC website, my anti-virus software popped up with an alert notification. Something along these lines (from my logfile)... Action: File Deleted Infection: HTML.MHTMLRedir.Exploit Infection...

    GRAPHICS: Improved Wonder pics

OK, it looks all the bugs are cleared out. Thanks to GIDustin for the final little push. Again, these splashes contain the new traits, new wonders, a little Tourist Attraction deal, etc. Here's your preview once more... And the files...

    GRAPHICS: Improved Wonder pics

I had fixed the color depth issue and the splashes appeared ingame without crashing but there was another problem...areas of the splashes would appear black when displayed. My guess is that it's some sort of transparency problem but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

    GRAPHICS: Improved Wonder pics

That's exactly what happened to me, low. I built the Oracle and...game over. The wonder splash .pcx files opened just fine in other graphics editors (they were created in PhotoShop CS and I could open and view them just fine with the Paint Shop Pro trial version) so I don't think they're...

I'm getting crashes too, Dale, although my game simply exits. Any idea what the error message said? That could be helpful. I have a couple of ideas as to what might be causing this. I'll have some time to look into this tonight.

Thanks for the tip, low. I wasn't aware of that. It definitely makes things easier.
