basically i have played a few rounds of mulitplayer and the game becomes boring after a while. Most players rarely go to war unless provoked or they always target the weakest in the food chain. so the game becomes very linear where you build up and expand by gobbling up your smallest neighbour...
well i think the tech tree really allows for some creative thinking now. there are a lot fo examples where the tree doesn;t follow our real world one. i think one interview brought up rocketry without flight. and the example the dev came up with was artilley powered rockets.

it would really help if you could invent an upgradable gfx slot for laptops......not only would it help us, i m sure it would make u rich too.

actually i find that chokunu's collateral damamge is so much more useful. just use a stack to 5 and you will reduce a stack of hordes to its kness. + they are real cheap too.
hmm..personally i feel that combat has greatly improved in IV. for once the units are actually intuitive to use. the combat bonuses add tatical fun to the game. as for cap, i thought its actually quite easy to get them since for the earlier turns, you don't have much to do and the timer is...
there is another workaround that makes more sense. because the fog is actually unrevealed at the center of the map instead of where your settlers start, i suggest you "move" yours settler or scout to the center of the map(hopefully its not ocean).
if we use the map visible tech, fog of war...
for problem 3: allow existing players to vote to allow/disallow players to enter and voting on which civ to make AI only from now on.
this would stop pple from joining and picking up a crappy civ.
well sometime people just run out of time.
its good to name your game "5 hour game, serious players only"
then start when u have 5 players. put the timer of quick. 5 hours shld be enough to get to modern age.
