Just saw this, looks like the patch is live.
EDIT: Nevermind! Wrong game.
Indeed, wrong game. Thread closed to avoid confusion
The more I've played Civ5 and see the AI try to defend/attack well but fail, I recognized why Panzer General worked so well. It set the map with where the units should go and gave you a time limit to win a 'stage' in the game. When it was completed you went onto the next set-up scenario...
Interesting, I was using Strategic View almost exclusively and that is when I was crashing more. I do have one save game that no matter what I do it crashes when I complete the turn though.
I thought the problem was fixed but now it has resurfaced. I had gone through a few of the fixes/suggestions (running dx9, strategic view, lowest settings, installed new drivers, updated video driver, reinstalled dx settings, etc.) from this...
Thanks The J. I found some answers at the Steam forum and I haven't had a crash since. It was doing it mid-game. I run DX9. I updated all my drivers, Direct X etc. The fix had me rebuild the C++ and Dx stuff.
One suggestion: Create a default unit for each era as the 'lowest common denominator' (eg. Conscript, draft, reserve in Modern Area) but keep the units attack/defense numbers. This way a spearman would be represented by a very weak Draft person against a tank.
One change I'd like to see is if I have such advanced technology that I can travel space why can't I have a distribution network to distribute food to cities that have grown too large?
If I can build a rocket and go to the moon, I wish I could distribute food across my cities. So when a city is short on food it takes from a larger pool. Maybe this is a new technology called 'Distribution Infrastructure' or whatever.
Makes no sense to have Advanced Flight but you can't...
One thing I'd like to see is a more advanced AI. For example, when you create an alliance with a CIV and give them gifts, etc. it knows this and is more likely to keep future alliances down the road rather than turning on you when you advance.
I'd also like to see deeper uniqueness in each...
No I mean when will we KNOW which new civs will be avaliable. They said they were going to start releasing new civ's one by one on their site prior to the release of ptw.
If the guerilla should have hidden nationality, I think they should ONLY be attacked by other nations IF they are in their territory.
I hate when I had a hidden nationality unit that my allies destroy. Makes no sense.
I tried to create a tech with no era as a prerequisite for a government, which was a prereq for constructing an advance.
It kept crashing....
How do I do no era techs?
