Thanks, it does work. As you said, it just bugs me a little , but I just click twice on accept and there we go.

    Australia getting the shaft again.

Actually Therlun is quite right. Maybe this will come as a surprise to our American friends but the base price for computer programs is based on the region they are being distributed to. So, before they sell it to some country or region they ask themselves, 'how high is the cost of living here?'...

Visual C++ Runtime error on start up

@Shurdus, Thanks for the reply, but I am afraid it has nothing to do with it (tried it already as I have always disabled intro movies for Civ IV and BTS after watching them once). The bug appears before the application does anything, even before initializing the video system. It appears right...

Visual C++ Runtime error on start up

Hi every one, Every single time I start the game I get this error about some DLL that could not be loaded correctly (the title of the window is Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library). It will pop up again a second time and then the game will start and function correctly. Any hint about how to...

Reloading, cheating and the various views.

Maybe if a serious mistake from pushing the wrong button or clicking the wrong tile. And I say wrong as in I told you to click that tile silly mouse.... If the 'wrong' comes from me (as opposed to hardware or fingers) I will live for the consequences until I reach a point of no return... then...

    No Wii? Not interested.

 As the tittle says. When CivR was announced I found myself wondering and actually looking forward to buying it and playing on my Wii... but then it gets dropped. Why is it? Worse graphics? Then how come the DS version is still on? Bah, let me know if it ever is a version for...

    Different version in Multiplayer

Since I bought BtS (Spanish version, interface language English, Updated both to 3.02 and 3.03) whenever I tried to join a MP game, the game would tell me that I had a different version from the rest of players (marking all of them with MOD). I have just the base game, updated to 3.02 first...

    City Growth

It actually does both. Tries to produce the less food possible, maxing production and/or commerce. But in case it just cannot arrange a 0 food rate it will also keep your city from growing even if it has enough food stored for that.

Stonehenge - Whats "centers the world map" mean?

Before you know much of the map it is centered around your civilization's territory. Once the map 'is centered' you know your civilization no longer is the 'center' of the world. And so, the minimap shows the real position of your civilization in the map (instead of just showing you in the...

    the "sentry" command

Quite right, my mistake. I will check it as soon as I can get to cIV. It looks like I've been living under a wrong impression by being too lazy to check if the bonus was still there after accidentally waking up a fortified unit. Thanks for the info! :goodjob: To remain on topic, I...

    the "sentry" command

If you DO unfortify it, it will loose the bonus. But if you just clicked it it won't be automatically unfortified; just click on another unit, or if none available end turn. At the begining of the next turn, though, you will have this very same fortified unit selected, so be sure to click on...

    the "sentry" command

The unit will wake up at the begining of the turn right after a unit other than yours enters itsview distance (that is, if that unit enters your territory but it is too far away for the sentried unit to 'see' it by itself, then it will not be waken up). Of course if the entering unit has...

Did you win the first time you played?

I'm not embarrased to say I didn't. In fact I didn't finish the first game; it was not that things were going bad (not at all) but I thought I could do better. I was playing on Noble, got to the modern ages in a confortable first position, everyone was friendly... In fact I didn't see...

    First Game played without reloads

More than reloading (that I have done a few times) I tend to replay. That is, I like playing on the same map/civs (I know the first time is special as you don't know the terrain yet) trying different strategies/what ifs. What I do try is to make as few changes as possible to city placements...

    chop or improve tile ?

As far as I know, it takes the same time to chop, then improve, than to improve directly (which implies chopping anyway). The only difference (and the actual reason behind doing it in two steps) is that you get the hammers for the chopping sooner if you do it so (first chop - get the hammers -...

    Problems with Patch 1.09

I downloaded and installed the 1.09 patch from within the game. No problems there whatsoever. I didn't have any problems playing before, only some unstability while in the game list for multiplayer (some times it CTDed with out any warning or error message). The intro movie had no problems, but...

    Keyboard Shortcuts

For the flying camera you can use the PgUp/PgDown keys to control altitude (much better than just diving with the mousewheel). Also, I find it easier to use th up/down arrows to control forward/backwards movement, as I get a smoother movement. Ah, and remember to take some pics (PrintScreen key)...
