    Alexander's Conquests development thread

Well as long as you are satisfied that this unit will be a good representation of the hypaspists. All I was wanting was confirmation that you liked the look of the unit before I proceeded any further. The preview is merely for demonstration purposes only, and does not represent the final...

    Alexander's Conquests development thread

Well I can do the Hypaspist unit easy enough. I mentioned the cataphracts as I thought it was a unit that you were wanting (misread the above posts I guess). Not that I have counted how long it takes me to convert a unit, but I would guess anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. Thing is, I am too...

    Alexander's Conquests development thread

Well I have decided to make the Cataphract and Companion horse units next for you Keroro. I do not know when I can get time to do them, but I shouldn't be too long getting them done. Before I make them though I need an opinion on something. I want all the converted units to be of relative size...

    Roman Equites

Thank you all for you kind words. Its been a trying month, as I haven't had much experience with those that are to pass on. I have every intentions of converting more units, yet it is a matter of when I will have the time to do so. These conversions are rather time consuming as I...

    Roman Equites

This unit has been sitting on my HD for sometime now. I was going to release this unit in January, yet due to personal reasons (close friend of the family diagnosed with terminal cancer) I didn't have it in me to do it. So without future ado... Download

    Happy Birthday Gaias!

Thank you everyone. :) Gah! I feel kinda guilty now for not being so active in the forums since Christmas. But hopefully that will change now that my life is settling down (just moved to another city). Really want to get back to making (well converting at least) units for you all. ;)

Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire

Let's just say all Roman units are on my TODO list. Though I do appreciate the few people that are in demand of my work... As of right now, I am trying to lay down the foundations of procedure that will allow me to convert these units fast and efficient. I have not been able to do all...

    Rome Total War/Mods Unit Request.

Well the files used for RTW are .cas files. There is only one importer/exporter that I know of and it was made by Vercingetorix for 3ds max. The files do not need to be converted to anything as they can be manipulated within 3ds max, along with the animations. I am not too sure that the files...

    Alexander's Conquests development thread

I was thinking about the units I am going to convert for this mod and an idea came to me. There are alot of defensive type animations in RTW that would normally be wasted on CivIII, as it doesn't translate well. Considering that this is a single civ game, I could essentially make the battles...

Hey! Don't blame me for the bad latin as these are the names the Rome Total Realism people use for their units. :p I am just using there naming convention as it is. Besides, isn't a single unit is CivIII a general representation of many men within that unit? :mischief:

Thanks for all the comments guys. Definitely makes it worthwhile to slave through arduous task of these conversions. Well I know what I did wrong with the javelin throw and will be uploading a fixed version soon. I was in a hurry to get this unit done as I am trying to get all my base...

Most excellent unit Steph! Though your greatest creation for me is your Story Board Builder, as it allow me to make my own units (conversions that is) so much easier. Awesome stuff! :goodjob:

    Roman Velites 12/01/2006

Well I finally finished this unit! Just a few more roman units to go and I will done that line. I think the thrown javelin is kinda wonky as it was my first attempt at actually animating anything from scratch. It looks ok from a distance when use as a bombard, but goes over units heads when used...

    Rome Total War/Mods Unit Request.

It's not that it is or is not possible to convert RTW units with free for use 3d programs, I just do not know of any other importer/exporter of the files RTW uses for these units. I would be glad to share my limited knowledge of converting these units with anyone who has access to 3ds max (I am...
