I usually straight up run urban planning for most of the early game + anti-barb card or +military production card. I go God-King if I need a certain early pantheon but it seems futile to compete for the ones that go early anyways and being left with stuff like Divine Spark as there is no need to...
Unfortunately, you can't rely on CS's getting advanced resources as they may not even be able to build an oil well, or just.... at all. So without a builder of your own, it's not really a thing. Normally I would tell people to settle on the oil but that was not possible here obviously. Being...
It doesn't make any sense to take over Mexico City. If you think Khmer is going to win diplomatically, then just take them out of the game, and then all their envoys will be destroyed, allowing you to take it over more easily as suzerain.
Who cares about grievances if you lose anyways? Although...
Hah, that's why I never like continents in any of these games. It's decided by just taking over your continent. And sadly AI will never have a chance there because they can't handle water. (Now, that I at least understand).
It just requires you to settle cities in the region before invading. Past the early game you have ECs so if you get one up in a nearby city, or target an enemy city with one, it's easy. It doesn't even scale with production so even a city with 1 production can keep the project going as long as...
A domination victory by the AI should not be possible unless the player is severely misplaying because it naturally involves bowling over said player in most maps. So a player never actually sees the AI making said victory, because they probably would have been eliminated or they resign...
I would call it moral cowardice, but your answer is better.
Now I would give you the cookie, but I can only give half of it to you, because it's partially flawed on one side and thus the whole thing is bad. Better toss it to be safe.
In all seriousness, I thought "woke" was a pretty silly...
Yea it sucks, beyond like making sure they never end a turn on the actual river tile.
No real solution but you don't need any case to save scum though-- just do it.
Not really. I actually like seeing people break the AI with entertaining tricks. That actually is a skill. Problem is that the AI breaks itself regardless of user input.
I mean, it's historically accurate to have stupid leaders, lol. But they should pose some degree of a threat.
I do expect...
I don't know about that. Civ 4's strategy forum has (always) been more active than 6's here, and that game is like 10 years older. And heck, despite basically playing the game, strategy has changed a lot then what I remember when I played those forum games like 10 years ago when development...
Well, I've played only a few games since the last patch, which was bad. And the game has been left in this state for several months already.
Hopefully, the bigger issues can be fixed but at this rate the UI and World Congress and going to be a joke with most of the extra features being...
They should take a page from AoE2 and make siege weapons resistant to city defenses, while being very weak to military units.
As is, siege weapons are just pretty trash except the brief window of balloons but then you can build planes soon after that.
I was under the impression that they just multiplied your tourism. But the game doesn't really explain much and most of the modifiers are additive.
For example Leaky (300% tourism from Artifacts) and Heritage Tourism (+100% tourism) is not 6x tourism from artifacts, but actually 3x (200+100)...
Eh lol, nah, why wait for that when...
Nah, no spreadsheets. I mean also this is an advice thread, so save your rants.
But sure. You can also win the game with one city too, but that's not the point here. Read above.
The winner here. (And also everyone thing wrong with this game)
