distance is not much of an issue in modern times. The world is a tiny place now as far as ideas go, but in 3000bc, the world was enormous and ideas did not travel like they do now. That's why I said in my post distance should be a diminishing factor as time goes on.

Nice mod. But yes, I used version 1 and it was insanely fast teching. I will try out Version 2. What would make this perfect:
-Distance of other civilizations with the techs
-Open borders
-Maybe if your're at war with that civilization you will get an increase as well?

I have been playin a game for a few days now with this map (old world start). Europe seems like it could still be a few squares too small. Songhai and india just ran away with the game though because of all the room they have to expand. Still having alot of fun with the map though. Thanks
