Can Civ be made so comebacks are possible?

What I've always advocated for the game, is that each resource on the map would have a finite limit as to how much can be extracted from that square. Once that limit is hit, the player would have to have another resource of that type in order to continue supporting the units requiring that...

    Civilization IV: Barbarian Onslaught

I found a barb city on another continent in the 18th century - the city was fully upgraded and had a 3 tile culture border! The city name was not one of the ones that is usually associated with the other civs (the only civ to start on that continent was Germany), so it looks like barbs can...

Why would anyone build the Internet?

The Internet should allow you to get Hit Singles and Hit Movies without having to build the wonders that they come from ;)

Thing the AI does : Thread

Another AI thing I'd like to find out. in the late middle ages in the normal game, I have equal units to the AI, and am keeping up in tech (90 or 100% on the tech slider). Shortly after Cavalry, come the more advanced units in quick succession (infantry, SAM infantry, Mech Inf.)...

    UN Elections

Unlike CIV 3, if anouther civ is more popular than you with the other AI, the AI civs will band together to vote their "friend" into the secratary general. I was in the middle of a space race with one other civ (who was slightly ahead), but it pulled off the diplomatic victory a few turns after...

Thing the AI does : Thread

In the late game, the AI will research Rocketry early, and start building Apollo Program to go for a space race victory. Won't trade the tech either - if you mouse over it in the trade screen to find out why it won't trade, it says "I'd rather win this game"

How do I conduct war in Civ4?

Offensive war is extremely difficult in Civ 4, much more so than in the previous version. Most of the time, the enemy has a very substantial advantage when defending. Usually a few attacks with catapults are needed to soften up a position. I had in one of my games as India, an Arab rifleman...

Called EB Games in Burlington, they have my pre-ordered copy in. Will be paying them a visit after work, and probably won't leave the house til Monday.

The Rise of a Great Nation

I like the way the Egyptian AI civ has placed Elephantine right at the chokepoint of the continent, although I can't tell if she'll be able to pass naval forces through. That was one of my favourite Civ 3 strategies, which worked well for me to discourage settler spam, at least before Map Making.

    Canada

Which one? I've purchased at Appleby & Dundas - calling on the 25th and 26th, they said it would be in Thursday. When I called today they said "possibly tomorrow", their shipment is delayed!
