over 2000 years ago Gilgamesh conquered Macedon and then declared war on me. I captured and held onto Pella.
2000 years later Gilgamesh is still whinging about it!
Silly, no?
(Personally I think France should give Alsace-Lorraine back to Germany!!!)
When I conquer another country I usually find that the AI has built an encampment in nearly every city. I don't need that many encampments. I wish I could rezone the encampment hexes to replace them with something more useful - for example, an entertainment zone.
In fact I don't see why it is...
I have been playing Civ for 30 years. I have bought every version and every extension.
It seems to me the Civ VI developers, unlike their predecessors, don't give a ******* about my wishes or the wishes of other loyal players.
The Civ VI developers only seem to be interested in introducing big...
It seems to me the whole Civ VI development team is focused on big flashy ideas (new modes etc). It is shame no member of the team is working to fix all the many annoying little things that are wrong with the game.
I believe it is a sign of bad UI design when I have to keep pen+paper notes to manage a basic aspect of the game.
In the case of Civ VI this means keeping notes on when trade deals expire. Surely this would be simple to fix?
The Civ 6 developers are only interested in big flashy new ideas. Unfortunately they are indifferent to all the small things about the game that are stupid and/or annoying.
Possibly the best example of something stupid and annoying is the way helicopters behave like ground based units...
At the moment you can only have water works in one city (with Governor Liang)
I think it would be really good if the aqueduct could be upgraded with a water works - it seems to me very reasonable that almost every city should have a waterworks in the late game.
Obviously Governor Liang would...
I am moving a lot of troops around a suzerain city-state being attacked by a civ to try to make it hard for the other civ without actually declaring war (I try and avoid war). Then the other city sends me a message such as "I see your attack, withdraw or else". The two options are: promise to...
I think it would really improve the diplomacy side of things if it were possible to declare to a civ that unless they made peace with X then war with them would be declared. I am particularly thinking of the situation where a civ declares war on a suzerain city state.
Following the German...
the cut scenes (leaders pronouncements) get awfully tedious after you have played the game a lot and are not essential because the next screen tells you all you need to know - it would be nice to have the option to not have them
I am playing Pericles and I have more Great Writers than cities!
There should be some way Great Writers can be useful even if no Great Works slots are available.
Norway keeps offering me peace and I would love to accept.
However the silly rules mean that I cannot make peace.
After a lot of expensive effort I have conquered Nidaros. If I make peace I will lose Nidaros because I will no longer get the garrison bonus.
It is illogical that a garrison only...
I would really like to be able to build elite units in military academies. These units would be expensive but would be stronger that infantry and would start with a special ability. Marines for example would use only one movement point to go ashore.
I always make sure I have a good income. For example, in my current game my income is 644 gold per turn.
The AI civs often offer me 3 or 4 gold per turn for iron or whatever.
3 or 4 gold is irrelevant to me so why would I agree to such an offer?
At the moment city states get no benefit from capturing a settler.
I think settlers captured by city states should become builders after 20 turns. This gives civs the chance to capture it but if not they eventually become useful to the city state.
