So the other day I randomly remembered what most likely caused this. If during a game I forgot to switch to a civic during a golden age (and too many turns had passed for me to reload an autosave), I would go into the worldbuilder, give myself the Cristo Redentor so that I could switch without...
Aren't crossbows quite weak for rushing? They're quite expensive and don't even get CR promotions, so you'll need a hell of a lot of hammers to build a force up.
The problem with having a PHI leader would seem to be that you'd accumulate more priest points before getting the forge up, although...
The current resource system doesn't recognise multiple instances of a resource apart from corporations. It would be great for larger empires if one instance only provided benefits for x number of cities.
What you would need is to create loads of copies of a resource, which are all unique as...
Barb cities may take more hammers to conquer than it would to settle with a Settler but on higher levels it allows you to claim a site that would otherwise be taken up by an AI grabbing it because as you know they suck at war so it'll take them a while to capture a barb city.
Machine guns are amazingly good at stopping hordes of outdated units (since they're immune to collateral damage), although beware of mounted units that are immune to MG's first strikes.
I don't see why you couldn't amass enough troops to take out every last city in one turn, just for the hell of it (or even do this one civ at a time). You can be counter-attacked if you finish everyone off in one turn.
Yeah, that's why you can build Hydro Plants, or indeed any other power plants.
In terms of preference, I know Hydro gets used over Coal/Nuclear but which one does the city use out of Coal/Nuclear?
Someone else posted that on the forums and I've never observed getting double points inside borders but then again I've never paid attention to it too much.
I'm pretty sure fighting inside your own borders doesn't give more GG points unless you have the Great Wall. The Great Wall and Imperialistic traits are multiplicative though, to give 4x GG point production.
Well, even if you could demand tech from them, what would be the difference? Your diplomacy modifier against them is going to decrease? What slightly annoys me is how the AI never demands/begs/asks a request from the AI.
