[VidLP] Marbozir's Deity Sumeria Let's Play

You had a problem seeing your three sources of aluminium. I think the solution is to right click on the "new sources discovered icon". This removes the top source from the icon stack and allows you to left click to see the next source. Also, I believe that a privateer can raid a deserted...

    completing installation??

I had a very similar thing happen to me. I was playing Civ V happily until about three days ago. Without changing anything on my part I suddenly started getting the "completing installation" message, which ran through from 0% to 100%, before giving a Steam error message 53 (servers too busy to...

The Spy who came in from the AI

That is not always the case. On Immortal I have often been lagging in tech when I reached the spy era and I have still lost techs to other AIs. I have even been targeted when I was eighth out of eight in tech!!

Gods and Kings duel deity game : what should I do?

Even better, play as Elizabeth and rush to Ships of the Line.

    what's your perfect starting location?

On a hill. Next to a river. Next to a mountain wonder. Well away from the jungle. With Alex nearby, so I am guaranteed some puppeted cities without accruing the warmonger penalty.

Immortal Challenge #4 - Greece (Oval, no DLC)

I will have a go at this one. I struggle with Immortal and I need a good start to succeed. This start looks very good and should give a decent chance for a win (or at least surviving until the end)!

LC's Deity LP #1(China, Standard, Pangaea)

Awesome job so far. I am looking forward eagerly for Episode 10 and beyond.

    Prismatic's America Immortal Let's Play

A very poor starting location for an Immortal game. I would have definitely re-rolled this one. It will be interesting to see if Washington can be developed into a half decent capital by the end of the game. You may not have met the Incans yet, but I bet they are casting lustful eyes at Boston.

    Intermediate Player with Questions:

Interesting. I've never had a problem with the Huns or Germany. Both seem to get swallowed up early in my games. The last three Immortal games I've played, the dominant AI's with the enormous empires were Russia, Rome and Korea!

    Intermediate Player with Questions:

When I play at the Immortal level I always have trouble with a runaway AI even when playing Pangea maps. This is a feature of the last patch. Before then I could win a high percentage of Immortal games from a reasonable start location. Now I win very few games, and then only with a very good start.

    Chariot archer promotion tip

Thanks for the tip. The only thing is I cannot remember the last time I built a chariot archer. Am I missing out on something?

    TSG45 After Action Report

A slow time, but a victory none-the-less. I only built three cities and played a peaceful game throughout. Catherine became the dominant AI in my game, killing off both the Celts and the French. She also declared on me 10, or so, turns from the end, but I easily held her off with battleships...

    News: TSG45 Announcement

An awkward start, with no obvious "best" spot for the capital. I am not inclined to settle in place, since I think I will need the trees for long term production. If 2N is coastal, then that may make a reasonable settlement, even if there are no sea resources there. At least it is on the river...

    TSG40 After Action Report

I didn't like the coastal start with no sea resources visible so I settled 1NE on the fur tile. This put me riverside, kept all the visible resources and gave me more usable land tiles. I am happy with that decision. In retrospect, building the Great Library would have been a good idea, but I...

    News: TSG39 Announcement

What a poor starting location. Short on food, short on production and only one type of luxury resource. I certainly don't want to settle in place. How well I do may well depend on the initial direction I choose to wander with my settler.

    News: TSG36 Announcement

I agree with the inclination to settle WSW. However, I think I will move the warrior to one of the Northern hills first, just to see if I would be moving away from something better.

    TSG34 After Action Report

One of my faster science victories, although a very slow one compared to the best ones posted already. I settled on the hill where the warrior started and pursued a relatively peaceful game, starting with the Great Library and National College. Napoleon declared quite early but I easily held...

    News: TSG34 Announcement

As Hiawatha it would be good to have more forest tiles in the city radius since, with lumber mills and a longhouse, the forest tiles will give excellent production for the late game. Therefore, I am inclined to settle on the hill where the warrior is now. This will bring more of the northern...

    Arabia got nerfed??

You could always turn off the start bias in the Advanced Start Menu. Then you might not start in the desert.

    City state captures civilization city..

That is something I have seen 2 or 3 times. In my last game my city state ally captured Babylon. Of course, since a city state, by definition, can only control one city the captured city is always razed. This includes a capital city.
