    Anyone still playing Civ4Col?

No, I'm waiting on a patch. Oh and that applies to firaxis purchases as well, none till this is patched. No, seriously we been over this. The goal of the game is to fight the war of independence as quickly and exploitively as possible NOT to create an independent and successful nation...

Who's not playing until a patch comes out?

Oh Oh, Oh dear, dear me sorry I almost died from the hilarity of my own super funny edit!!!!!!! Lets not eh, it aint funny. Whats the designed time - 31 turns 41 turns? How many becomes fun? Isnt it 'designed' to be won as fast as possible? Nothing rewards you for making a country...

    Bit disappointed about purchasing colonists

Unfortunately any change to this aspect of the game ties in to a number of game elements in a rather bad way (eg spiraling costs, WOI focus). If you couldnt buy people: 1. You will quickly notice that the crosses cost of immigrants becomes prohibitive, you will essentiall not get anyone from...

    Games not broken on release?

No no no, no onee does that, no consumer is getting annoyed with the state of PC games and not buying them/slash waiting to see if there any good. How silly can you be! Its PIRACY, evil pirates!!!!! Affecting game sales not broken games, not people doing the above, deciding "hey I got...

    Silver value falls below food

Nope, not the type of food your refering to. You want assets, the safer the better of course and traditionally gold, but basically anything except food and water. I pity the person who invest his money in food. hehehe I dont know how much a warehouse full of bread and water is going to be...

    Silver value falls below food

Your talking of the typical gold rush situation. But this price drop is felt the most at the source, not at the final point of sale. Ie My colonial purchasing officier would buy silver from my miners for nothing but when I actually get to europe the market is so large (from europe it would...

Remove education punishment in the patch

You realise what this model is tho right? I mean they WANT you to deliberately have a very small crappy nation with no production, no bell production, no education and except right before you want to rebel to gamey load up on bells for an ultra fast transformation (more cult like then growing...

    Education confusing

I understand the idea but I dont like it. That my choice of course and others probably like it. However even if you do like i think its broken given there seems to be easy alternatives. ie Invest in crosses which become useless quite quickly or just buy someone or invest in schooling...

What is the Man-O-War and the SOL anyways? - a topic on ships with some ranting

Well I think you summed it up yourself, it very very abstract game. It like complaining about civ4s "riflemen" or "infantry" not matching the performce of the 1912 122nd X countries elite brigade etc. However since put effort into a long first post I'll answer your questions: 1. Man o war...

    Pioneer impovement prices

Yeah the gold costs seems silly, should just be free, I dont think i ever said no farms too expensive. They should change the cost to tools, that way you still use up tools to improve land but without the micro of having the pioneer run out.

Design Issue - Attack AI Opponent Early Problem

Early war isnt the problem, I like the idea of early skirmishs to establish who gets the best stuff or stealing treasure wagons etc. The problem is just the AI settles with solder and cant defend automatically with only one dude. Just changing this rule would make a big difference

    Is indian training working right?

Does anyone else ignore the school system and just ram half of europe through the indians network of technical training colleges? Am i missing an advantage to the schools? School cost more and more to train while indians seem to be free to use and you dont have to build anything or buy a...

    I'm not impressed

hehe oh I dont know maybe when it was called CIV4? Or maybe when firaxis said it was a "A re-imagining" and not a remake? Or could it have been when they said "Classic Game Design Rebuilt for the Modern Era"? Or could it have been . . .

Alright, the UI is clumsy and irritating

First off, it is a CIV mod, so it going to get compared to CIV. Good mods dont arbitrarily change the interface just to be 'different' and pretend there not a mod. If they do they have reason and they explain it. Thats a really terrible argument, as its the UI, its only going to get more...

Alright, the UI is clumsy and irritating

I must agree, I dont like this difference for difference sake. Just makes playing Col then Civ then Col super annoying. Why move stuff round for no reason. I really dont like pushing enter. I also dont like all the wasted space, I have small buttons but a massive brown swath across the...

    The use of carriers

Hear hear. Carriers are pointless. If your playing the ai, and assuming its not a pangea you need transports to shift your men and a few battleships to guard them. Thats it. No need for carriers. Waste of production. The ai seems to like to have his own interceptors and sam inf. This...

Stop the AIs pointlessly declaring war

What level do you play at? What sort of map? Ive seen them drop off a 'stack' but its usually no where near that amount of men. It might be the way I play but Ive just never ever seen so many men dropped off. Maybe, I could go as far as 20 but no more, and that would be incredibily...

Stop the AIs pointlessly declaring war

Yeah once an AI decides to attack it appears you cant change its mind. Reload a few turns and do whatever you like (shuffle men or upgrade them, get allies or tech, become buddies in diplo) they still attack. I dont know how far back (turn wise) its decisions go but at some point it 'locks in'...
