IMO wait to buy it untill after Christmas, then the price will drop and hopefully there will be enough patches and/or mods to fix most of the problems. I don't think CIV5 will ever be completely fixed because there are too many flawed basic game design problems at it's core.

I'd like to downgrade my vote to "Completely Dissapointed " at best. The combat system comes straight out of a 20 year old game called War in Europe, (or Panzer General, take your pick). Worse than that, the AI doesn't even what to do with such a simple combat system. The city state feature...

I had no problems at all, and I think the interface looked great. Of course I hadn't gotten to the point of taking cities yet. So I'll use the No Buildings Fix patch and go with that. I'll let you know if I run into any problems.

Great mod, I like it alot. I did notice you do have to play on marathon or the techs come in way too fast.

I actually like the units being depicted by their NATO military icons better in this mod. It lets me know exactly what types of units I have in an area.

This mod is great, I've played 3 games with it so far and found no problems. I also found it works well when I add some extra civilizations from Civ Gold 4.0 modpack. This is one of the few mods I can add extra civs with and have it still work. Great job :)

You're correct Amra, you don't need to modify the vista or xp pro .exe for BtS. Firaxis fixed it as best they could for vista, now all you really can do is ..... add more RAM. I run 3G myself, but I'm thinking of going up to 4G just to make things play smoother.

any from the civ gold 4.0 mod would be great, they're all in modular format i believe. (like the minoan or any south/central american civs :) )

I'd vote for the Star Trek mod. Babylon 5 is cool, but I think you'd get more races, (Gorn, Vulcans, Andorians, Klingons, Romulins, Tholian Pirates, Humans, Orions,... and that's just from the Kirk/Spock years :crazyeye: ), more techs over the 150+ years spanning the 5 tv series and movies...

Great work on Overlords 1.41, it's one of the few mods I can play on vista with no problems :)

The very same Mongo ruled by Ming is what they used. It was a mainly non player civ that was located in the north Pacific islands with a few scattered outposts in other places. It took the place of barbarian civs.

What Commander Bello's said is true, when Gave updated his mod to run on vista, I stopped having so many problems.

This sounds like a really fun mod to play :) . There's a Civ 2 or Civ 3 mod, (I forget which), called "The World of Jules Verne" that you might want to look at for ideas. It came with one of the expasnion packs and had things like the time machine, capt nemo's sub, the country of Mongo, etc.

Since I have vista, I've always had a problem with the bug mod. Either it slows the game down alot in mid to late game, or the the game just crashes randomly at times. So I won't miss it if you decide to remove it.

Yes I have crash problems, and it starts right after I hit the classical age also.
