TerraNES: The Civil Experiment

thanks.

In Egypt there is a special "Diplomat" job, many people can be Diplomats both abroad and in Thebes.

Rulers of other nations or highly official diplomats come in front of the god king to plead to him, he may choose to talk through a vizier, or by himself if it is a high enough ranking person.

All I can so to those with "Spartan" diplomacy. You can forget about having Egyptian diplomats in your lands. Only generals.

no nation to set up a greeting for. hmm, ah, this will work.

The "Preist of the Codex" never speak directly to those they do not know. visitors to the temple are greeted by acolytes in the outer forum, and escorted in to the priest by them. once there, they serve as go between the visitors and the the priest themselves, passing messages between them. Eventually, if the priest feels the visitor is worthy, they will aproach the visitor directly talk to them, showing the visitor that they are trusted.

the Only visitor who is ever personally greeted in the outer forums by the preist is the High King of Katan.

Diplomacy in Vahlshallah is highly centralized, the King will usually go to people or have people come to him, rather then send diplomats abroad, though some do make their ways to other nations. Entourages, made up of officers, merchants, Faith priests and other people of high importance, accompany the King, as well as the armed Royal Guard, tasked with keeping him safe.

:hmm:, I with the customs of the High Kingdom of Katan and Katoan Empire, I might have to rewrite diplomacy.

Also, I find it funny that Katoa is saying that the ambassador is threatening them with slavery. Especially when Katoa is Japanese not!Sparta, and it is built on a foundation made of slaves.

I smite you with the power of Cat's Cradle, 6 Journal Entries, 1 Project, a Commercial Video, a Paper and Pencil NES, 2 Latin Chapters of De Bello Gallico, a Persuasive paper, Travel Agency Project, and more.

EDIT: Not all of which are due tomarrow, but are all due within 2 weeks. I am justified in starting work on them at the very least.

So go do homework. Don't post here without an update! ( :p )

I want to see this update, a glorious update in which the spears of the East color the world a bloody red to protect all of Keltia! :D

Finally, the Minigame #3 is coming to an end. It requires detailing how your nation handle ambassadors and messages; does your king go himself or does he send a proxy? In negotiations does he trust negotiators or does he simply have message relayers? Is your nation's messaging system controlled by secular, religious, or a combination of such authorities? Please post IN THREAD, thank you. :D

I present this story as a depiction of a Hyakkid Ambassador. Such a person is almost always referred to as 'Ambassador' rather than by their given name, to avoid distracting attention from their position as lesser avatars of the Bloody-Handed God. Their role is very prominent, important and respected, although many Ambassadors view their role as a burden and minor shame, as they are almost all elder warriors who are no longer able to serve on the front lines and have not become generals, lords or commanders.

Ambassadors view their roles as a continuation of their career as warriors. Diplomacy is seen as a world of verbal maneuvering and tactics, much like a metaphorical battle. While they can no longer fight with weapons, Ambassadors make use of words to further the will of Takarzi's Avatar, by organizing alliances, judging and studying neighbours, and supervising various interactions, economic and otherwise, between the two nations.

Where the spears to the East all get overrun by hordes and hordes of Barbarians... on machines they have no idea how to defend against.

Technically I am 30% done, but realistically I am only 15% done. I'll see if I can finish the intermission before I tune out for tonight.

Got it done, but I probably need to redo it tomorrow.

A group of ships sailed for Hormuz. These belonged to the Aswan Coffe Company. This company owned much of the trade through the Gates of Mesopotamia (despite some independant merchants of considerable wealth also sending ships in this direction). This was technically a diplomatic mission by the Axumite Government, but the ACC had the most interest in negotiating free passage of ships through the strait. The government of Hormuz had demanded 1EP, which had been obtained from hiering troops as mercenaries in Mesopotamia's numerous pointless wars. Nigist headed the negotiations. She was an experienced negotiator for company intrests, and had handled negotiations by the company during the Egypt/Kush crisis. Aside from her, were several delegates from the company, and one government official. A bureaucrat of low rank named Kebede. The talks were expected to be easy, since most of the deal had been hammered out before that. The delegation landed, and the money exchanged hands. Hormuz confirmed that company ships would be able to freely go through the strait. Moreover, the company delegation secretly put in lower tarrifs for them, and higher tarrifs for their rivals in Hormuz ports. The ACC had made another successful step toward monopolizing the Mesopotamia coffe trade.
