Six-Months War; Take 4

OOC: Although on further thought, looking at my stats TLK has given me 38 Dreadnoughts, 69 Cruisers and 100 Destroyers, including stuff in the colonies. Am I to be excused scrapping/redistributing the surplus on the basis that the equivalence is clearly lower (i.e. it's presumably all of us, not just me, who have more ships than we used to?) (or wasn't colonial stuff counted in the original treaty?)

We are not willing to give up our newly acquired independence so quickly. If you truly are concerned for our safety we will allow you to station troops within our nation but we will not submit to your rule.

Japan has no concern about these proceedings regarding the interpretation of the Treaty of London. We do, however, reaffirm our commitment to the Treaty of Tokyo and the similar treaty with France. Any British or French warship that enters into the Pacific Ocean will promptly meet it's end at the hands of the Imperial Japanese Navy.

We do not trust your motives in attempting to gain a protectorate over Aleyska. Similarly, we do not recognize the Aleyskian claim over the Aleutian islands.

OOC: Those new numbers look reasonable to me. I'd be fine with Britain keeping the extra ships they have in their colonies. Also, a similar conversion conversion should apply to France's numbers.

Germany values its history of friendship with Brazil and also wishes to continue that tradition.

From: The Kingdom of Italy

Since the Great War ended 4 years ago, our relations have significantly deteriorated, just a mere four years ago we were close allies, and we were since the Triple Alliance was signed in 1881. We wish to remain friends with Germany, and perhaps we could repair our relations, and one day revive our alliance, but in the meantime I think a non-aggression pact, and a series of trade agreements could be nothing but good for both of our peoples. what say you?

From: Kingdom of Spain
To: Germany

Like Italy, Spain is desirous of repairing its relations with the German Empire, our wartime ally and mutual friend in the struggle against the tyranny of the former Entente powers. It is our hope that Germany will consider a pact of non-aggression so as to cement the friendship between Germany and Spain, and the desire of those two nations to work together to foster peace throughout the world.

I guess if Agent is ok with keeping the extra ships in the colonies, I'll deal, but I think constructing any more in the colonies or the mainland would constitute a breach of the terms.

To: the Republic of Alayeska
From: The United States of America

Your unwillingness to accept our offer of a protectorateship is saddening.

However, we are willing to return the South Coast of Alaska to you if you would be willing to sign a full military alliance with the United States of America and grant us the right to station forces in Alaska in the event of war.

To the World

Belgium is officially renouncing any attempt at neutrality. It has become plainly obvious such endeavours are fruitless and only result in the lose of Belgian lives. We therefore will be exiting the Congress of Nations and all our obligations to said organization, and separately declare alliance with Germany.

Brussels-Berlin Pact

The Commonwealth of Belgium and the German Empire, with the mutual interests of trade, diplomacy and the balance of power, declare the following articles:

I. The mutual guarantee of all current Belgian-German borders, both on the Continent and abroad, forever more unless altered peacefully through consultation.

II. A defensive alliance, for any colonial or continental disputes involving an offensive invasion on German or Belgian territory.

III. Economic assistance for redeveloping Belgian industry, and future tariff reductions by both Belgium and Germany.

Signed, His Majesty Albert I King of the Belgians.
Signed, Kaiser Wilhelm II

We must respectfully decline the invitation, at this time.

@TLK: Do you have a specific format you like for orders, or can i use my best judgment?

Not particularly, so long as you post your stats, and spending under them, directly at the top, and title your PM as "The Andean Republic, 1922", or something along those lines. It helps keep me organized. :)

Is there a link to the treaty between the United States and the Confederate States?

Sadly no. I remember Nader expressly refusing to make a treaty, as the Confederates surrendered unconditionally. If you have questions about what the US may or may not demand, GK is the guy to ask.

Egypt
All into Economy.

While I'll accept those orders, if you really want, I do generally recommend sending me a PM with orders (as do most NES's). Also, with something a little more descriptive than "All into Economy".

TLK wahh whine the Venezuelan dictator and Brazil were friends in the last NES. We conquered Guiana and gave him portions of Suriname or something.

Venezuela and Colombia are closer to the United States than you, and their participation in the Great War was because of their dedication to the United States. Working, however temporarily with you in Guyana was nice, they still aren't willing to forgo their close relations with America, to venture off on some possible South American debacle. :p

Hey can I also have backgrounds on my rulers/parties etc...?

France is pretty easy. Napoleon III was infinitely more successful in this TL, then OTL, aside from a minor scuffle in the Franco-Prussian War. His son, the well beloved Napoleon IV has been ruling France since before the start of the Great War, but the loss in it has tampered with the Bonaparte reputation, something he is trying to get back. The French people have (for once) been a bit more forgiving in this aspect, as they view the loss of the war, not on Napoleon's leadership, but betrayal by the United Kingdom, who exited the war early, and alone, leaving France to try to fight off Germany, Italy and Spain. The only party in France worth mentioning is the Socialist Party, which has elected Louis Stele as Prime Minister, under the pretext that he will "restore France's prestige". Part of his plan was acquiring new colonies in Ethiopia, in conjunction with Spain, who has quickly become France's biggest ally.

Me too, please? Thanks.

You and Finland are lucky, as both your nations are relatively new, and have the ability to be molded very early and directly to your personal preferences. For Quebec right now, the party in power is the Nationalist party, riding on the tide of support after securing Quebec's independence in the Great War. They're biggest concerns right now are, rebuilding Quebec's infrastructure to be entirely independent, and to prepare to defend itself from Canada, now that it owns the Maritime Provinces as well.

I'd appreciate this as well, as a reminder, I'm Finland

As I said above, you have a pretty clean slate to work with. Finland is easy- it's ran by the conservative party, and has a heavy emphasis on protecting Finland's independence. After all, being surrounded by a violent Sweden, and new Soviet Russia isn't exactly ideal. There aren't too many parties challenging the Conservative's supremacy.

Also, I'd like to say thanks for working all that naval treaties business out yourselves. The NPC's will follow the crowd in any situation like this. If someone really wants to be awesome, and repost the treaty with the new numbers involved, so that I can link it to the front, that'd be great.

I'll be answering PMs momentarily.

Sadly no. I remember Nader expressly refusing to make a treaty, as the Confederates surrendered unconditionally. If you have questions about what the US may or may not demand, GK is the guy to ask.

@Nuke, @TLK:
Yeah, I don't think Nader realised that unconditional surrenders are usually followed by, I don't know, something. Nader just secured the surrender and left it like that. Even if it doesn't end in a treaty, there's still an actual government replacement and territorial changes and whatever from there, and until then the place is kept under full military occupation. Case in point, see Germany's unconditional surrender after WWII. The place was kept under a full military occupation from 1945-1949, and even then the Allies and USSR were setting up annexations and whatnot. Too late now, I suppose.

I guess the current status quo is that the CSA is under de facto US occupation (with US soldiers in force along the Georgia/Carolina coast and the lower Mississippi to deal with Black marxist rebels). I'm happy to hash out an actual peace treaty (which may or may not include territorial changes/arms limitations and whatever a treaty ending WW1 should actually involve) from there if you want, Nuke.

OOC:

Alright then, I'll say as follows, and here are the revised treaties of London and Boston, if everybody is now agreed on these numbers, which are the same as the existing naval totals, and equivalent as agreed in other cases.

By the way, TLK, you've got two links in among your treaties to the Treaty of London, of which the first one doesn't work.

Treaty of London

1.Britain makes peace with Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Abyssinia, and ends all affiliation with the Entente.

2.Britain recognizes the independence of Ireland and withdrawals all troops from the country.

3.Britain withdrawals all troops from Italy and Spain.

4. Britain pays 2 EP of reparations to Spain.

5. British South Africa is turned over to Germany.

6. Britain turns over the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba on the east coast of Africa to Germany.

7. British Nigeria up to the @#!*% River is turned over to Germany.

8. British Egypt and the upper section of British Sudan are turned over to Italy.

9. The Suez Canal becomes the joint property of Germany and Italy.

10. The area of British Sudan currently under the control of Abyssinia, plus another portion of British Sudan is turned over to Abyssinia.

11. British Sudan west of Lake Rudolf, north to the new Italian border will be turned over to Germany.

12. Sierra Leone will be turned over to Spain.

13. Britain will allow Italian ships to refuel in Malta and Cyprus (Not base there just refuel).

14. The British military will be forced to limit its size and strength to the following for the next 10 years:
-38 Capital Ships
-169 other surface ships (no more than 80 cruisers or 110 destroyers)
-35 Submarines

-6 Zeppelins Squadrons (or heavy bombers)
-20 Fighter Squadrons

-110 divisions of all types
-NO WARKERS
Once the first 10 years are up, the limitations will be discussed again, which could either lead to no change, more lenient limitations, or a complete abolishment of military limitations. (Same as Treaty of Boston).

15. Britain will not send troops into any country on the Continent (European of course) or involve itself in any Continental wars, unless attacked, without the permission of Germany.

Treaty of Boston

- The United Kingdom will give Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Trinidad, and their colonies in the Lesser Antilles to the United States of America.
- British Guyana will be given to Brazil and Venezuela. The current border between Brazilian and Venezuelan occupied Guyana will become the border post war.
- The United Kingdom will vacate La Plata and allow the United States and Brazil to form a new democratic government.
- The Falkland Islands and the island of South Georgia, and the South Sandwich Islands will be given to the United States.
- British Honduras will be given to the Mexican nationalists.
- Newfoundland and Labrador will be given to the Canadians.
- The United Kingdom will not be allowed to interfere in the American continents. This includes stationing troops, sending warships, opening embassies, establishing treaties/alliances, and conducting trade. If the United Kingdom wishes to do anything in the Americas, they must get permission from the United States first.
- No British military forces are allowed to enter Canada or its territorial waters. If this is not followed, the United States is well within its rights to declare war on Canada and the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom also will not supply Canada with financial aid either directly or through a second party.
- The British military will be be forced to limit its size and strength to the following for the next 10 years:
-38 Capital Ships
-169 other surface ships (no more than 80 cruisers or 110 destroyers)
-35 Submarines

-6 Zeppelins Squadrons (or heavy bombers)
-20 Fighter Squadrons

-110 divisions of all types
-NO WARKERS

Once the first 10 years are up, the limitations will be discussed again, which could either lead to no change, more lenient limitations, or a complete abolishment of military limitations.
- The United Kingdom will pay the United States 12 EP in reparations for the attack on American warships and the blockade of the eastern seaboard.
- The United Kingdom recognizes the United States' right to limit the size of Canada's military as long as they are a Dominion.

I've done France's and Russia's military restrictions as well. France also has marginally more ships than it ought to, so I have allowed for that. Does the below arrangement also seem reasonable to everyone?

Treaty of Paris

1. Peace will be made between Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary, Russia, France, America, Brazil, Venezuela, and the Ottoman Empire.

2. French Guyana will be turned over to the control of Brazil.

3. Russian Alaska and the Aleutian Islands will be turned over to the control of America.

4. France will give up their influence over the Empire of Mexico and officially recognize the sovereignty of the Republic of Mexico.

5. France will turn over all their Caribbean Islands to the United States.

6. Russia will recognize the independence and sovereignty of Finland, along the borders of the Grand Duchy of Finland. Finland may or may not choose to become a protectorate of the German Empire.

7. French Indochina will be granted independence and become a protectorate of China. China will work to establish a new Vietnamese government.

8. France will give control of the island of Reunion and the Comoros Islands to Germany.

9. France will withdrawal from German Togoland and all parts of German West Africa.

10. French Gabon in West Africa will be turned over to Germany, with the land currently held by Spain being given to them. French land from Lake Chad to the British Sudan border and south will be turned over to Germany.

11. All French land from Morocco along the Atlantic coast to the Strait of Gibraltar in the north and 100 miles inland will be turned over to Spain.

12. French Algeria will be turned over to Italy. All French land south from Italian North Africa south to around Lake Chad and the new German border will be given to Italy.

13. Nice and the surrounding countryside will be turned over to Italy.

14. The new German-French border will run along current borders in France.

15. Russia will withdrawal from Germany and Austria-Hungary.

16. The Duchy of Estonia will be established as a protectorate of Germany. Estonia will stretch from north of the Daugava River, east to near St. Petersburg, and south to near the city of Pskov.

17. All Russian land from the north at Riga and the new Estonia border, south to around the Austrian border, and west will be turned over and directly governed by Germany.

18. The Kingdom of Belarus will be established as a protectorate of Germany. Belarus will stretch west to the new German border, east across the Dnepr River to near the city of Bryansk, south to Homyel, and north to the new German border.

19. Austria-Hungary will be given the Russian land south of the new German-Belarus area and east to the Dnepr River.

20. The Duchy of Ukraine will be established, containing the Russian land between the Dnepr and Don Rivers, north to around the city of Voronezh. Ukraine will be a joint protectorate of Austria-Hungary and Germany.

21. Crimea will be established as an independent state, free to establish its own government.

22. France will pay Germany 15 EP of reparations for the next 1 and a half years (3 turns), and 10 EP per year for 1.5 years (3 turns) after that.

23. France’s military will be limited to for the next 5 years to:

-90 divisions
-No tanks (warkers)
-2 fighter squadrons
-No zeppelins or bombers
-13 dreadnoughts
-30 cruisers
-35 destroyers
-20 submarines

After that term is up, the arms limitations will be renegotiated between France and Germany, either being eliminated, reduced, or kept at the same level. France will turn over 40 artillery brigades, 10 dreadnoughts, 5 armored cruisers, 30 destroyers, and 5 submarines to Germany (does not include personal obviously). France will have one turn to get rid of the excess military, either by scrapping and dispersing them, selling parts of them off to other countries, or possibly turning them over the Germany in return for reductions in reparations.

24. Russia’s military will be limited for the next 5 years to:

-110 divisions
-No air force
-5 dreadnoughts
-15 cruisers
-15 destroyers

After that term is up, the arms limitations will be renegotiated between Russia, Austria and Germany, either being eliminated, reduced, or kept at the same level. Russia will turn over 20 destroyers to Germany and 20 destroyers to Austria.

25. Russia will pay 5 EP a turn for the next year to both Austria and Germany.

26. France will not be allowed to interfere in the American continents. This includes stationing troops, sending warships, and establishing treaties/alliances. If France wishes to do anything in the Americas, they must get permission from the United States first.

27. Russia will not be allowed to interfere in the American continents. This includes stationing troops, sending warships, and establishing treaties/alliances. If Russia wishes to do anything in the Americas, they must get permission from the United States first.

This gets my approval for all treaties concerned.

Its an treaty that Russia already signed that has been adjusted for the new NES and its unit types. Technically its already been signed.

OOC: Soviet Russia(or Imperial Russia) never signed a peace treaty. We crushed all imperialist incursions upon our lands and everyone decided to go home. If anyone has other thoughts on the matter we're happy to settle things on the battlefield.
