SGOTM 16 - Plastic Ducks

Couple of MIEs, then bank->WS. Moreover, some cities may start building wealth instead of infras.

Let's get Communism and AL as soon as possible. It's fine to run partial slider in this stage.

Checked the save. Looks brilliant

Hopefully, Sossos can play a turnset on the weekend. Next week I can play between Monday and Wednesday.

Looks good.

SB will likely research MA next. We are a bit slow on troop shipment, Ele and Hel could start and whip a galleon immediately.

Worker forces are a bit short, could let some food abundant cities produce some more.

Stop producing CMs? Some of our own cities and AIs need them, AP option is still available.

As I already mentioned, many cities that cannot complete or don't want to whip their infras in short time should build wealth instead. We want to reach Communism (other city can start building Kre for failed cash, even for a turn is good) and AL as soon as possible.

I thought I did a rather weak round, I was a bit rushed with the time I had available -_-

Anyway...

Troop shipping: you're right. I prioritized shipping Confu Missionaries instead. A few more ships can't hurt.

CM: tbh, there's just so many things to build atm, it's a total mess. In the big picture, I usually found something more important to build.

There's a lot of things I left undone in the save, I'll try to squeeze out a bit of time today to get it done so that someone else can play with a clearer path.

Good job :goodjob:

You are probably aware of it but I am reminding you must to build a fort on Iron south of Nippur or near it to connect it.

Also, if we want Qin to research Rifling, we need to give him Gunpowder.

Just reminding.

And congrats on GS.:D
0.5 percent for 4 in a row. I wouldn't be surprised if we got GScientist from Communism.:D

Haha, trust me, if it could happen, it would.

That's also the reason why the Orleans GP was pushed back one turn, I figured if I even put 1 turn of GS, I'd pop a $^@$^$@ GS again at 0.something% odds.

I've uploaded the new save for turn 1490 with finished moves and some city build changes based on suggestions.

Review and comment before the save is taken further.
We could trade Gunpowder to Qin to raise odds he'll go Rifling, and not Democracy (Emancipation )

Not too certain when we can DoW SB, but it would be best within 5 turns.

Can't study the save carefully now, my computer fans are crazy while running CIV game.

The only thing spotted from glance is that Tolo might be able to whip the MIE so that it could produce another MIE in 1 turn next.

Are you going to continue? Or someone would like to take over?

Tolosa has not put any hammers into the Executive, it'd be a 5-pop whip I think. Unless you mean whip him next turn... I have not looked at OF yet.

I can probably play a few turns, however we're finally getting the 2nd GP next turn so further discussion is required in 1t.

And we have to really plan the GPP now.

EDIT: not gonna play tonight, had a pretty rough night/day, I'm afraid of the mistakes I'd make. Tomorrow fresh if sossos doesn't pick it up first.

@Kossin

My schedule is already full tomorrow. You may play on.
I'll keep a time slot next weekend after jata and DW's turn.

Let's watch a miracle of 5 GS if you can.

Yay let me take this set. I understand you guys want all the glory of Humbab's slaying :/
Should have a plan ready for your Saturday breakfast.
Will play slowly presumably. Got a lot of free time until Thursday.

Did not look into the city since I just had a glance of the game and heard the fan was running crazily. I had some serious problems of my desktop, especially every time after I updated the windows system. I'm still hesitating to reinstall the system as there are so many other things to be reinstalled as well.

Edit: Did a quick check, Tolosa has produced MIE for 1 turn, so it should be whipped this turn so that it can completes another MIE next turn.

After looking at the save, I'd like to discuss the final term strategy. Excuse me if it is not an issue for you :D

Ideally, we'd want to finish in the frame of 25 turns (1t+24t GA)

Cultural cities. Paris and Orleans require ~ 40.000 CP.
Paris is going slower due to no hermitage. In a few turns, it will have ~ 200 base culture and 400% multipliers.
8,000 x 25 = 20,000. Paris requires 4 artists bombs in 25 turns.
Orleans might require 2 artists bombs, that's 6.

Add the 3 GP we need for the next GA, that's 9 GP

The 9th GP is 2800 points, which is 800 points in Orleans (3.5 multiplier)
Orleans can work 14 specialists without starving. 14x3 = 42, which is compatible with the date.

We need 8 other GP farms, which can be discussed later.

Now research. Are we able to research FT1 in 24 turns?
We lack 13 essential techs on the way to FT1: AL, combus, elect, flight, refridg, radio, computer, satell, flight, stealth, superc, gen, FT1.

Can we research FT1 in 2 turns eventually? It's 15,800 beakers.
We have ~400 pop at the moment. They can work 1200 hammers + 1000 from mining inc. and produce 4,400 b/turn with 100% multiplier.

Research still seems limiting compared with legendary cities.

What is the trick to the final research boost

Edit: I forgot the growth potential of our cities.
400 pop can easily become 1200 pop due to sushi.
No problem then, very doable.

Edit2: I made a mistake since I assumed wrongly we need 3 GP for the next GA. It's 2 and the culture victory/GP farming seems more and more like a piece of cake!

Hence the priorities are:
1. Spread Sushi. 30 cities to go.
2. Spread Mining. 30 cities to go.
3. Build production and science multipliers.
4. Farm a couple of non scientists GP for the last GA.
5. Farm great artists.
Insert TAO Temples.

Due to the low priority of GP farming, I believe we can delay the switch to caste/pacifism to the last possible moment.

Next post on war.

2 cities to be taken imo:

Chakoia for the SM.
Mecca for the Hindu shrine.

No capitulation as this would lead to domination victory most probably.

Whatya think?

Edit: the net gain from Hindu shrine seems little but it would be nice to build the Hindu cathedrals.
The net gain from SM is not absolutely convincing. Do we gain the bonus from obsoleted monasteries? If not this is not much better than the Hindu shrine.

Last spam and I'll be waiting for feedback and work on the tedious micro plan :/

Would it be smart to not war. but make friend with an AI (Qin?), give him a lot of techs and make him war with the other dudes so we are safe against random DOW+can open the door to a UN victory? The other advantage is Qin can help our research must better than what SM allows. Let's give Qin our cannons?

Edit: Let's give Qin Sippar (Tao holly city)

My civ computer is 350km away from me but I think you forgot 150% boost from broadway, r'n'r and hollywood.

Research is achieved through building wealth and research, and, also, through specialists.
I don't think we can make Qin friendly with shared war. It takes much more time than we have. Besides, we already have an AI to vote for us. We can't be DOWed I think, since we are too powerful. And I think Qin will not be warred with until end game (victory).

We'll have to many votes for UN victory, but when we liberate some cities turn before vote, everything will come in place.

Good luck ducks. And I hope for some screenshots so I could watch our progress next two weeks. :)
