SGOTM 17 - Plastic Ducks

As for Toku I think we should keep a couple of spies in the city before we attempt to declare. If we can spare a galleon, a matured spy can bide their time loaded. Unload, declare - full discount bonus and the galleon will be pushed away.
Spies do not mature in naval vessels but retain the bonus and cannot be caught. (hopefully I have not forgotten this bit)

Any objection on the EP target to QSH?
I'm OK with it. Already noted it for the final plan (I'm making one just in case I was to forget something).
So the builds in BF, SP and IC can be changed to trebs. Also, GG is to travel towards galleon N of OO to join our medic sword eventually. Trebs sitting in BF to move towards waiting ship (galleon chain will be available again next turn).

If I remember correctly, both Trebuchets can be unloaded this turn and ready to move next turn. (one ready to move this turn even)
 The galleons are out of moves. And the units are still in BF. I can only unload the two trebs on the ships.

OK :) I'll start playing then :)

Just bumping some very minor troop movement suggestions, in case they got buried amidst all the discussion...

In Djenne, time the Worker chop to coincide with the border pop. The Shock Archer can duck back into a cultural borders while the Worker spawn busts (possibly saving 1G... huge, I know). Soldat avec hache 1 can move to join our army, since the Worker will spawn bust, and Djenne's border pop will unfog the one dangerous tile.
Good luck

So here's our barb castle:

The cities look like a couple hundred gold coins laying around, should be easy to take... the main question is if we actually need 'em. No longbows is very good news.

They are also linked so as to provide Galley/Galleon access to the Lakes NW of HH. We'll soon find out if they'll be needed.

Do the Archers get upgraded to LBs when every civ has Feudalism?

That being said, there's a mountain 1NW of HAnvil. If another mountain has been placed 2N1W, then... well, lots of possibilities. :scan: They might be meant to slow down the Elepulters. They might be meant to provide canal access to the NW. Or neither. Or both.

Currency would take 12T without any extra specs (31 b going in) so it'll be easy to get it down to 10T. Even less if we really want.

My guess is indeed so. You have to take HAnvil, board again then take HHammer to keep going. Still means Astronomy is almost required to do anything.

Yes and no, the barbs do not need every civ to get a tech to have it at all. The progression of the tech is linearly based on the amount of civs having it (full speed w/ all civs having it 1/N w/ a single only)
Once they get it, they will be upgraded. Otherwise barbs will never progress if any civ is backward.

Once the border pops in ex-Mansa capital, I'd run a single spy there.

And the last AI is indeed Peter:

He's somewhat backwards too but does not trade Currency either.

And this is his land:

So the six forts towards Walata may not be needed after all. And some bad news: him and Churchill never met.

EDIT: I'd like to check out the N now with the LKs just to see if he can be reached via land (maybe not...)

Currency is monopoly for him. But it's good for us, extra 5% research rate :) He has feudalism, though which is enough to be annoying. I'd sell him compass for 100+ gold, just in case he gets there.

Try and gain visibility of Peter's city. I don't think we can secure trade routes, but this will provide access sooner or later.

Scouting N along the 'coast' is fine. Ending the turn on the GH will be the most revealing.

Does Peter know anyone besides us?

Good, he is pretty harmless :)
We may need another canal city around the rice to reach him unless the lakes Doshin mentioned do actually connect to him.

Now we only have to find how to reach Churchill and we're set :ar15:
