Monroe's Terms
One of the largest achievements of Monroe's presidency was his diplomacy. Through trading, giving of technology to underdogs, and pitting opponents against eachother but far away from the United States, he gave America an opportunity to both have one of the largest economic and productive growths in US history, while also fighting the largest empire in the world; The British Empire.
Notably, he lowered the technology rate from 90% to 10% and used state funds to help create levees, barracks, and drydocks. This skyrocketed US production, in which he could then use to build up the American army and navy. He ran unopposed in the election of 1820 due to the collapse of the Federalist Party. He also began a colonization project for Africa, but the process was still in the forming of settler stage before the end of his second term.
In 1818, he sent the ship USS Monroe to Latin America to improve relations and set up trading agreements.
During the war, he also set up the nation's first military academy in New Orleans.
In 1819, Quebec City was captured at the loss of the last cannon division the nation had.
Here is the US production plan at the end of his first term
In 1821, a man in California began planting apple trees. He gained legendary fame.
In 1823, with no division losses, Halifax was captured. With the capture of Halifax, he gave the famous Monroe Doctrine. With this, he said to the world that no foreign powers will interfere with North and South American situations, nor attempt to establish a colony. This idea would give future presidents reasons for war, thus decreasing war wariness.
Unfortunately, the war seems to be slowing down. Britain has recently begun creating machine gun divisions, which will prove very difficult to fight against.
Here is a picture of his second term's production plan.
Monroe did not wish to run for a third term. He retired to Oak Hill, and cared for his ill wife.
