Minecraft: The Chronicles of Panzerholme

Dear Councillor North King,

Thankyou for your interest in luxury properties and housing developments within the Panzerholme area. We hope the following may be of interest to you.

Development Site
A large hillside plot is available for development of high-quality housing for registered council members.

This site benefits from proximity to the Council Chambers, Zoological Gardens, the Olde Foodhaus, and the soon-to-be-redeveloped Central Plaza. It offers stunning views over the rest of Panzerholme, and with proximity to the city walls and the newly-refurbished West Gatehouse, the site also offers maximum security. City Guards are on call 24 / 7.

The site can be yours today for only [XXXtortionate] Geldmarks. Please be aware that planning applications will have to be approved by the Greater Panzerholme Government.

(World Map)

The city’s defences have been breached. We have no idea when the forces of evil will strike again. And so, day and night, rain and shine, the rebuilding continues.

The formerly-picturesque eastern farmlands have become scarred and cratered. We conduct some superficial repairs. Efforts remain focused on the city walls.

It is laborious, shifting large amounts of earth and rock...

Over on the west side, there is troubling news - our new Orken recruit, Everblack, has gone missing.

Despite lying on the very doorstep of the capitol, the western swamplands remain especially dangerous. Nobody really settles out there. There are… Things… Out there.

And sink-holes that have yet to be fully explored...

For now, we have to call off the search for Everblack and return to the walls -

For the enemy has returned, and pressed its attack on the western gatehouse, by land and by water:

Fortunately, we are able to withstand the assault…

It seems the local Creeper population has been exhausted, and in the absence of that particular threat, we are able to finish rebuilding the gatehouse, complete with a couple of automated arrow-dispensers (not pictured) at the request of Councillor North King.

Our defences are now stronger than ever.

Enough wall building...

Life returns to normal in the city streets...

And another mercenary arrives in town: Azale, the feisty female dwarf.

And a traveler named poketwo has arrived from overseas, claiming to be from a city even greater than Panzerholme - of course, we know this to be nonsense. The poor man is clearly suffering from ocean-sickness.

I attempt to convene the Council to discuss our next move. But first, everyone is distracted by Lord Tambien’s new pet dragon, called Ophorian. I’m sure he’ll eventually grow up big and strong. Hopefully not too big!

AVAILABLE QUESTS:
* Begin building New Vinland industrial developments (epic build).
* Find Everblack and tame the western swampland!
* Redevelop central Panzerholme with a new plaza and miscellaneous public works.
* Build a TNT bombing aircraft, to conduct revenge bombing attacks / area denial operations on known dens of Terrorist activity.
* Other???

A feisty female dwarf never leaves a companion behind! We will conquer the swampland and plunder its riches!

While I would be interested to see what you would cast me as, could I opt in as a shady human male property developer? >: )

I'd like to open a slum apartment block, and next to it, a check cashing/advance payday loans shot

"I will build the bomber. I have seen what you count as 'aircraft' and it is nothing but zeppelins. Then again, I've seen only the civilian vessels, but I don't have high expectations. Now for you lesser advanced men to see a real plane!"

Lord Tambien, of course, votes for the industrial development of Vinland.

"My fellow Councilors, thanks to the valiant efforts of the City Guard and Our Great Leader the Capital has been made safe once again. All quests before us, granted, are important, but I would argue that the industrial development of Vinland is the most so! Would not the taming of the Western Swamps, the redevelopment of central Panzerholme, and designing and building a TNT bomber to destroy known Dens of Evil all benefit greatly from a new industrial center pumping out products and resources to assist in these endeavors?

"Thus do I call for the establishment of an industrial Vinl- OW! OPHORIAN! NO BITING! No! Get away from North King! Foul demon, why'd I get you anyway?!"

*Grumbling and occasional shouts of 'not the shrubberies!' can be heard*

Any room for a mysterious floating orb?

An orb reported to be seen on the island of "Little Shroom."
Very mysterious and very floating.

A man by the name of Socrates has recently been making headway in the economic sectors. His air transport business has won loyal customers for its great service and reliable delivery

I conduct a tour of the Northwest perimeter of Panzerholme.

Despite ongoing terrorist attacks, we still have thriving agricultural lands in the shadow of the city walls.

The Potato Harvest is almost ready, Azale.

Meanwhile, a new housing project is underway in the industrial district. Funded by Councillor Nuke, this 'affordable housing project' is said by some to be a deliberate trap, designed to exploit the new immigrants to the city...

Fortunately, or unfortunately, we don't do slums in Panzerholme. The Elven Engineer, Thlayli, becomes involved in the project...

And construction continues at a steady pace...

...until a curious incident occurs while planting a rooftop garden. We've mistaken giant Fir saplings for the more humble spruce trees, and accidentally grown them using our patented Magic Bonemeal. The whole structure is now in danger of collapse.

Nothing to see here, citizens. Everything under control.

Azale comes to view the top floor being finished.

That's more like it... The 'slum block' has evolved into something more fitting of our city. Apartments are already being sold, but final fitting out of the interior is on hold while the council decides whether or not to grant retroactive planning permission to this bold, modernist piece of architecture...

Rainy season arrives in Panzerholme.

Some new arrivals to mention - the dragon Amon Savag, and his wife Cyanuth the Pony, seeking a home where they will not be discriminated against for their interracial union. Welcome to our humble bastion of tolerance and enlightenment.

Another council session dawns, but before we get stuck in, something is on my mind... Its been days and we still haven't heard or seen from Everblack. I decide that I will not leave a brave Ork behind... I'm going out there to find him, or at least have a darn good try.

Azale is keen to join me. And while getting kitted out, we make another random recruit - the wanderer poketwo, whom we equip as a bowman; 'yes, I'm sorry about the blood-stained second-hand armour, but its better than nothing!'

Even before we leave the city, a random Enderman materialises inside the walls. Azale bravely takes it down after a short but fierce melee, and earns us an Ender Pearl in the process. Is this an omen?

I want to leave while its still dark, to give our party a taste of combat while still within safe distance of the city. As we near the gatehouse, one of the guards at his post wishes us luck.

And action there is. We step through the west gate, and things instantly turn hairy...

Notes:
I didn't actually add Nuke as a character yet; he and others will be added at the next opportune moment!

Council will reconvene as and when I return from my quest.

Did my character do anything else than going out on an adventure, or was he to occupied to do anything else?

We've finally found a home :3

Not to mention the pony Cyanuth (Amon's Savag's wife) is actually Amon Savag's sister, and only 11 years old. So tolerant, this place :)

May I suggest a combination of World Downloader and Schematica to allow people to submit building designs if they want to and you're ok with it? I'd like to think my time on Civcraft has give me a passable hand at architecture.

I meant to say, Schematica is something I started looking into, though I love building bespoke buildings :) where does World Downloader come into the picture though? Seems like it uses the schematic file format common to worldedit etc?

Hmm, better not mention that last part, or the part before!!

@poketwo, forgive me if I missed something, all I knew about your character is that he is a wanderer from an alleged great city. He was just chilling in the dockyard area until we recruited him ;)

Bespoke buildings?

WorldDownloader would allow you to copy the part of the world the building would be in, thus allowing people to contour the build to the landscape and then make a schematic of it. It's not necessary, just might make for some more interesting builds and less of a tough time landscaping for you. ;)

The melee in the darkness is chaotic. But a few zombies and slimes don't stop us.

We keep moving towards a VTOL parked nearby.

The first rays of dawn scare away the zombies.

We check out the VTOL - an beatup old flyer, left here due to lack of parking in the city - but no sign of Everblack.

"Is something moving in the shade of the trees?" "Uh, no, no... Nothing... Let's keep moving guys... Keep moving..."

And watch your step.

These lands are treacherous. They will swallow you up without warning. Did Everblack become trapped down there?

We find a cave that offers a safer route down. Not that anything is particularly safe here.

We are soon beyond any path that had previously been torch-lit. Poketwo surges ahead and takes a leap further into the darkness, we have no choice but the follow. Skeleton archers are suddenly upon us.

It is one chaotic melee after another.

And yet there is a haunting beauty to this place. And who does not feel the thrill of adventure? In all the ages of the world, it seems no civilized being ever ventured here before. Danger closes in all around.

Lets hope so, Azale.

Still no sign of Everblack. One path is blocked by lava and water.

And the other is suddenly full of Creepers.

This is for all the damage you caused, Creeps!

These caves are rich in minerals as they are in evil. I take a moment to do some mining...

And suddenly, I've dug through into another large chamber. Something moves in there. I leap through. "Everblack?" Alas, it is not...

*Multiple simultaneous hissing sounds*

*Concerned yells*

"Daftpanzer!!"

*Stoic glance*

"Fly, you fools!!!"

(BOOM)

THE END?

Well thank Daft that we have Regenerative Bed Technology! Though your posessions might be gone, our leader is still here, which is what matters!

Of course, the beds do sometimes cause small losses in memory. On that note, do you remember that insanely large sum of money and personal VTOL craft you owed me? :mischief:
