Unit requests thread

Hello. I was looking at all the modern units in the downloads, and there is lots of good present day units for civs such as Britain and America. However, all the modern German Units I could find were ww2 ones, which, obviously, are not appropriate in any post-war mod. I was wondering if anyone knows of present day infantry, etc, models or if anyone could make some. Thanks in Advance

Pulled this guy from Varietas Delectat, should fit your need for a modern soldier. As far as other modern units, you shouldn't have any trouble finding them in the downloads section. I've seen jets, helicopters, mech infantry, mobile artillery, modern armor, pretty much anything you would want.

Hey guys, I have been trying to create a unit for the Fall from Heaven 2 mod recently. I have been trying to create a balseraph Immortal melee unit, in the style of the Joker from Batman. I dont really know how to test to see if what I made actually works in game. I had modified a different melee unit from the mod in blender, and painted the skin in GIMP. Could someone test to see if the file I have attached to this post is animating correctly, or have any advice on how to continue from here?

I have recently added Great Statesmen as a new GP type to my mod, however they still lack appropriate graphics both for the unit and its button (as well as statesmen specialists).

I know that C2C has them, but I don't particularly like their graphics. Rise of Mankind also has great statesmen but theirs are all female. Which is great because I want to do female GPs as well, but for the moment I want to focus on the male graphics.

Does anyone know appropriate graphics for such a unit? I'm not picky regarding era etc., but it should intuitively represent the concept and unit and button should match. Maybe there is something in Colonization that could be used?

That does look perfect, thanks for the suggestion!

I don't either but I needed something to put in C2C as place holders:D.

I think the Total War mod had better looking ones for buttons and city screen but I failed to find them. They were classical era bust style. That was before I knew about atlases and that Total War required and used art from Next War.

Hehe, I'll look into it, thanks.

Okay, the art works within Colonization.

I've always assumed that since both games run on the same engine, art could be freely shared among them. Is there a reason why Colonization art wouldn't work in BtS, and maybe a way to get around this?
Quoting this from the quick general questions thread here as well.

Asking Colonization proficient modders is probably a good idea, thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I even remember some posts about differences between modding units in BtS and Colonization, in the Colonization subforum, but can't recall exactly where.
I'm pretty sure some modders in RaR can point you there, or help you with your issue.

*fingers crossed*

There was something wrong with the units armature. I'm not sure what exactly. I tried it with different kfms and it still freaked out. Removing the units armature and then rigging it onto another unit's armature fixed the issue.

She uses the Great Artist kfm:

I think the original animations are the "SugarPlanter"-Animation from Colonization. No idea what was wrong.

This units work for Civ4, if you use the sugar planter animations (.kfm and related .kf-files) from colonization. In Civ4, this animations are not included, they have been made later vor Civ4: Colonization. You need Colonization, or anybody who give you this animations.
