Most Favourite County - Eastern European Catergory

Thank you for making the last thread a sucessful one. Hopefully so will this.
This is the Second of the Favourite Country Series

I have been decidingly wondering what was the most loved, most respected, most cared about nation in the world in OT, and this post and poll is meant to serve that purpose. Since I can't fit 194 countries into the 25 Ballot Polls, I decided to take it region by region, picking the winner and runner-up into an international round. Hopefully, I can get at least a HUNDRED votes before I proceed to the next region.

RULES - Please follow them for a fairer poll

Rule 1) No voting for your own country
Rule 2) Please choose your answer base on the following catergories

1) CULTURE (Its eg. dances/music/tradition)
2) FOOD
3) GEOGRAPHY/GEOLOGY (For its eg. beaches/mountains/scenaries/climate)
4) LANDMARKS (Both manmade or natural)
5) HISTORIC PRIDE (Like the Britians proud of their Empire or the Americans for their Revolution)
6) POLICIES (Like Free Healthcare/neutrality stand/whatever)
7) AORAM (Amount Of RadioActive Monkeys)

Rule 3) No bias voting like a German voting for Austria or a Greek for a Cyprus because its the next closest thing.

Rule 4) Please comment a little bit on your choice and state your nationality
Rule 5) Please also add in if you want the next Poll to be an Open Poll
NEW Rule 6) Please dont debate with me the defination of Eastern Europe and what is in or not. Offenders will be shot. Surivivors shot again.

Well deciding between Finland and Russia...hmm Lets go with Finland.

Finland. Great hockey.

Romania on all counts + they are the only one there that speak a proper language.
Honorable mention to Finland.
I did not forget Poland.

Hmm... with Turkey in, the situation is a bit more complicated.

I don't know what to choose between Turkey, Greece and Russia. You can't really compare Russia with any country in the world, but on the other hand Greece has an enormous amount of beauty on all possible points of view compared to its size.

Well Turkey wins,however I cant vote for Turkey.Then my vote goes to Greece

Greece wins, no contest. Great history, culture, food, landmarks, and geography. Just think of Ancient Greece and Athens, the most influential philosophical and governmental theories in the world were developed there. In my opinion, at least...

A vote in this category excluding the Chech republic and Slovenia is plain silly. Then you might as well take away all countries that are not orthodox or muslem.

Both the Czech Republic and Slovenia have historically intimate ties with Western Europe due to Austria, of which Slovenia was historically part of proper anyway. As for the Czech Republic being western, I give the example of Jan Hus.

Poland

1) Awesome Traditions!, We have a few dances and Polish is a good language for heavy metal and rock music
2) Kielbasa anyone?
3) We have beaches, Mountains, nice climate for our area. Our historical Towns are one of the best in europe! (only Italy, Germany and Maybe Czech/Austria/Hungary beat us in that one)

5) Historical Pride? You got to be kidden me! Poland win's this easily. Obviously the most nationalistic country in europe!

6) Policies... Really is that important? We have some troops in iraq, so we're siding with america and the EU.

Besides i voted for Greece. Greece is awesome! Best Language ever! Best BEaches ever! Best Everything ever! Yah i tottaly voted for Greece.

Yeah but so does Finland, and Estonia and Latvia and Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.

These countries also have a more western culture, not the least because they are Protestant/Catholic.

There is a bigger difference culturaly between Russia and Poland then between Germany and Poland.
