The Triumph(?) of the Boers: Yet another AoI Story.

I'll need to have some ahead-of-time plastic surgery done if I am to lead Free China, seeing as how I look Germanic/"Aryan"(i.e. blonde hair and blue eyes) in actuality... :mischief:

The scenario is called "Age of Imperialism" for a reason. The natives will adore your benign enlightenment brought from afar!

I would start an invasion plan for America. If you wait to long they might become too entrenched to destroy.

Well, as Tanicius Fox said.....

@ Condor:

As great as Hikaro's epic conquest has been, I don't think he has anywhere near enough time to eliminate both the USA _AND_ Germany. From what he's commented, it would appear he does not want to start any wars with them; he's pretty much won the game by default if he can defeat Britain.

If I DID end up in a war with the US (which has dozens and dozens of Battleships prowling the oceans), my only likely gains would be Belize, Jamaica, New Guinea and the island that they took in the Dutch East Indies.... They are likely far too powerful in their "Festung Amerika" to be driven out, especially since I have no way to deploy any kind of aircraft to soften them up (although I AM starting to build up my own fleet of crappy Coastal Battleships)....

As far as I'm concerned, the US can KEEP their "Festung Amerika" and I'll just busy myself with creating a "Festung Europa" Hopefully, push comes to shove, I'll have enough population to win a diplomatic victory by default, or at least prevent one until the timer runs out and I win by having the largest VP score....

One interesting thing I found out is that all the wonders in Australia, except the Australian Commonwealth, produce Raw Materials, so I'll still have a small, steady stream of Raw materials trickling in even after I liberate most of the other colonial areas. :D

BTW, I'm thinking about organizing much of the former Russian territories that will be "liberated" from Germany into not only their original states (Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, etc), but also the actual southern Russian areas (Moscow, Yaroslavl, Novgorod, Smolensk and Rostov) into a revived Gardariki! :D

BTW, no problem about your looks: At least a THIRD of the cities in China, believe it or not, have a MAJORITY of the population being Boers! (mostly smaller cities such as Ulan-Bataar, Kashi, Lanzhou, etc), and the Boer Federal military is probably the world's most ethnically diverse: We've got Boers, Bantus, Zulus, Congolese, Ethiopians, Arabians, Bedouins, Scandinavians, Scots, Irish, Indians, Afghans, Burmese, Thai, Cambodians, Vietnamese, Malaysians, Tibetans and Chinese, so you'll fit in just nicely. ;)

Book 2: Operation Sunset
Chapter 2: The Axis of Evil
Part IV: Shanghaied!

During the last week of May, 1912, the latest intel report from special agent Yuffie Kisaragi in Middlesbrough indicates that the city's garrison consists of one City Guard company, two British Infantry companies, one Colonial Infantry company a Home Guard company and a single Machine Gun battalion, as well as an Airco DH2 fighter squadron and three Advanced Airships (pretty much all the new ones they've managed to build since the catastrophic loss of their entire Airship Fleet in Nanjing).

Special agent Tseng reports from the Azores that the city is defended by a mere two Militia!

Elsewhere, Asmara launches the Armored Cruiser, FRS Vientiane II.

In Asia, General Veers' artillery hammers Shanghai, the last British-controlled city in China, inflicting 75% casualties on all defenders. During the battle to liberate the city, a veteran Boer Light Cavalry company is wiped out, but the British lose the last Indian Infantry company in their entire army, four Colonial Infantry companies and a Colonial Cavalry company. Defense Minister Jason Voorhees and Veld Marshall Takayama personally lead the final assault that liberates the city.

We gain control of the Port of Shanghai and China and Mongolia are now completely free of Imperialist influence. Captain Tanicius "Marius" Fox, is hailed as a hero by the Chinese people and elected as president of the Sovereign Republic of China. As he's packing up to leave Veld Marshall Takayama's Renault Gepantser Groep, Veld Marshall Takayama shakes his hand and says, "Good luck, Marius, I'll keep in touch."

After that, the two part ways, and Veld Marshall Takayama takes command of the troops heading into Persia.... The back-stabbing dogs must be punished!

General Veers' artillery moves by rail to reinforce General Sun Yat Sen's outside Gorgon, and the city is relentlessly shelled. Gorgon's defenders suffer 75% casualties as a result of the barrage. Despite the punishment delivered by General Veer's Artillery, SEVEN Commando companies are mowed down by the numerous Maxim Machine Gun battalions fortified around the city. In the end, all four Maxim Machine Gun battalions are destroyed, along with a company of Persian Riflemen, and the City is captured.

The Persian Navy, not wanting their only combat ship to be captured, scuttles the lone Torpedo Boat in the Caspian Sea.

The troops move on to hit Mashdad (in many cases sneaking around huge Persian armies), and General Veers' artillery repeats its last performance. THIS time, in order to make sure there are no repeats of the Battle of Gorgon, General Sephiroth van Niebelheim and the 1st Light Horse leads the attack, wiping out two Maxim Machine Gun battalions. An Elite Commando company also participating in the attack wipes out the last Maxim Machine Gun battalion and captures the city, along with a Horse Artillery battery!

The Horse Artillery battery is sent to the Colonial Army Barracks in Lahore for upgrade into Field Guns.

The Shah of Persia flees to their last outpost: The Azores.

General Veers then directs his artillery to hit all Persian Light Cavalry companies in our territory, and all are reduced to 25% strength. Six Commando companies and two Boer Light Cavalry companies wipe out all FOURTEEN Persian Light Cavalry companies without suffering any major casualties.

In Britain, General Wallace moves his artillery into position to hit Middlesbrough, and the resulting bombardment inflicts 75% casualties on ALL defenders! Two Renault Gepantser Groepeer are lost in the battle, but the British Army loses their elite Middlesbrough City Guard Company, one of their last Maxim Machine Gun battalions, two Colonial Infantry companies, one British Infantry company, a Home Guard company, an Airco DH2 squadron, three Advanced Airships and control of the city!

All remaining artillery hammers the HUGE British army caught between Middlesbrough and Glasgow, with all but five companies suffering 75% casualties. Six Maxim Machine Gun battalions, NINETEEN Colonial Infantry companies, 7 Colonial Sentry companies, three Australian Infantry companies and a company of British Infantry are wiped out with NO MAJOR LOSSES ON OUR SIDE!!!! Scotland has been purged of the British scourge, and we now control and actual ENGLISH city!

All fresh units move into position to attack Liverpool next Month... Soon Wales will be free of English meddling!

Elsewhere, the 7.5cm Mountain Gun batteries in Hispaniola sin an R Class DD and a Steam transport, and the New World Fleet ships, FRS Auralia, FRS Livingstone and FRS Kabul sink several more R class DD's near Hispaniola, and the New World Fleet's Flagship, the FRS Pretoria (our first Armored Cruiser) sinks the Steam Transport the R Class DD's were escorting and is promoted to elite status.

Early in June, Brazil comes asking for an alliance against Japan, which we refuse, and we give them 2000 Gilder to quit bothering us. President Cleveland comes asking for 100 Gilders in addition to the 100 Gilders per week that we've been paying them to stay out of the war, and we gladly hand it over to him... We've got our hands full with bringing down the British Empire, and the LAST thing we need in ANOTHER surprise war to distract us from that worthy mission!

Foreign Minister Slegmond also reports that Italy has completed constuction of the Bersaglieri Academy.

In military action, apparently the capture of their last two home cities had lit a fire under the Persian generals' collective asses, because they finally sent one of their hordes to attack Kandahar! In the fierce fighting around the city, a single Commando company is lost to slaughter six entire companies of Persian Riflemen!

In Britain, A heavy British Counter-attack on Middlesbrough is repelled. We lose two Maxim Machine Gun battalions a company of Boer Infantry a Renault Gepantser Groep and a Commando Company, while the British losses are only a single Australian Infantry company and a Colonial Cavalry company.

Elsewhere, the Persians land several troops in South America outside Paramaribo.

The losses sustained by the combatants this round are as follows:

British Empire: 1 Indian Infantry company (their last one), 25 Colonial Infantry companies, 2 Colonial Cavalry companies, 7 Maxim Machine Gun Battalions, 4 Australian Infantry companies, 2 British Infantry companies, 7 Colonial Sentries, 1 Home Guard company, 1 Airco DH2 Fighter squadron, 3 Advanced Airships, 4 R Class DD's, and 2 Steam Transports.

Kingdom of Persia: 7 Maxim Machine Gun Battalions, 7 Persian Rifle companies, 12 Light Cavalry companies, 1 Torpedo Boat and 1 Horse Artillery battery captured by the Boers.

The Boer Federal Republic: 2 Maxim Machine Gun battalions, 8 Commando companies, 3 Renault Gepantser Groepeer, 1 Boer Light Cavalry company and 1 Boer Infantry company.

The clock is ticking down on Britian and Persia. Soon their last cities will be captured and integrated into the glourious Boer Republic. And then Germany will feel the wrath of the Boer Republic.

But you'd better hurry or Germany will have conquered most of Russia by the time you get around to them.

Good job!! :goodjob:

@ Japan:

What the HELL happened there? How come their cities look so modern? Or, as my friend said, citing a Red Alert 3 reference: "OH F**K! THE RUSSIANS WENT BACK IN TIME! THE EMPIRE OF THE RISING SUN HAS COME! WE'RE ALL SCREWED!"

Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier: Japan entered the "1915-1919" era, and apparently El Justo & Co. didn't edit the Asian city graphics so that ALL eras were Industrial, hence the Japanese having "Modern" cities... I kinda thought the same thing when I saw that... I.e. "Boy, talk about the Butterfly Effect!"

Excellent work Hikaro! One more front has been sealed up, and dare I say it... I believe the Boers now control all of Colonial - Continental anyway - Asia! :D One half down, another half to go... well, if you ever get around to Russia, of course. Darn time limits!

Keep in touch indeed! As the New President of China, I will be happy to supply you with millions of brave soldiers for the front! 'Tis the price of being freed, no? ... Good luck devising tactics where they don't charge straight into the machineguns though... :nervous: Or flat out feeding them all.

I eagerly await the next campaign maneuver... soon, London will be yours! A pity Queen Victoria could not live to see the day her own country fell... ah well.

When things quiet down a bit.... I've either been off visiting relatives and friends who live about 700 miles away or entertaining relatives at my place who are visiting from over 2000 miles away the past few weeks, on top of work and stuff.....

I was hoping it was an update .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

how do you rename units???
=\

Make sure your "show advanced unit actions" box is checked in preferences, and you'll have some extra unit action buttons on the game screen.

One of the buttons is labeled "ABC" or some variant when you have a unit displayed ... that's the unit renaming button. Push it and rename the unit.

And you're welcome.

Book 2: Operation Sunset
Chapter 2: The Axis of Evil
Part V: Checkmate

During the last weeks of June 1912, President Kruger called a meeting of his top advisers to discuss the long-range strategy of the greater Boer Republic. Dr. Victor Frankenstein announced that with the completion of our research into Advanced Airships, we have entered a new era known as 1915-1919.

President Kruger looks at the calendar and remarks that we seem to be somewhat ahead of our time, and tells Dr. Frankenstein to start research into "bigger guns" for General Veers' Artillery (Which requires researching Industrialization III and Colonial Admin VII first), while Veld Marshall Takayama mutters something about "the Butterfly effect throwing the entire timing out of whack, hence Britain developing Tanks 4 years too early."

Veld Marshall Takayama then proposes that after "settling accounts" with Great Britain and Persia, the next target should be France, followed by Germany. The rationale for invading France is thus: #1 France has annexed Benelux and is forcing all the Dutch, Flemish and Luxembourgers to speak French and eat frogs, and as descendants of the Dutch and Flemish, it is our duty to liberate our cousins. Ditto goes for the former Austrian territories under French rule. #2: the French Colonies of Oubangui-Chaari and Gabon pose a MAJOR security risk, and we REALLY should drive ALL colonial oppressors out of Africa (and I don't like the concentrations of French Colonial Cavalry and Legionaires on the borders of said French possessions and our territory). #3: Finally, despite our honoring EVERY AGREEMENT WE MADE with them and never going to war with them even once, the French, for some reason, still have decided to cop an attitude towards us, and their ambassadors have gone out of their way to insult key members of the Boer Federal Government (including Veld Marshall Takayama himself), therefore they, like Germany, cannot be counted for support in the event some kind of "League of Nations" gets created... He also muttered something about "Watching Paris burn to the ground and pissing on the ashes would be a lot of fun, too, but I won't sink to that level," but only Defense Minister Voorhees and General Sephiroth van Niebelheim heard him and they both agreed with the first part of his statement.

In the Provisional State of Iran, General Sephiroth van Niebelheim and General Veers continue to clash with the remnants of the Persian Army, which has turned to looting the countryside since all former Persian cities are under Boer control. As per orders sent from Veld Marshall Takayama, they only target groups transporting Raw Materials (if I don't capture the Raw Materials before I take the Azores, they'll all disappear) After hammering ALL Persian units in our territory with a massive artillery barrage, all but 8 badly mauled Maxim MG battalions are wiped out, with a loss of only one company of regular Boer Infantry in the process. The Persian troops that foolishly landed in South America are subjected to a similar treatment, and a company of Persian Riflemen and three companies of Light Cavalry are wiped out for the loss of only a single company of Boer Commandos. The Transport ship that brought them there is sunk as well.

The entire Persian Army now consists of 8 decimated Maxim MG Battalions in Iran and two Militia companies in the Azores, where three Boer Infantry companies and a Maxim MG battalion land... Persia gets liquidated next month!

In Britain, after a two-day artillery barrage, which included local Naval assets, all defending units are reduced to 25% strength, and the Coastal Fortress and Naval Base are blown to smithereens. Although a company of Boer Light Cavalry is lost during the battle, the British lose three of their dwindling Vickers MG battalions, the Liverpool City Guard regiment, two British Infantry companies, a Home Guard company, a Colonial Sentry company and control of the city.

The British spike their own 13.5" Railroad Gun battery and burn two Airco DH2 fighter squadrons in the hangar to prevent our capturing them. The battle with the retreating British armies outside Middlesbrough continues with artillery barrages inflicting 75% casualties on all units and sinking a British Steam Transport. While a Renault Gepantser Groep is lost in the skirmishes, the British lose two Colonial Infantry and two Colonial Sentry companies.

Meanwhile, all availible forces move in to hit London. After hamming London for 12 hours, our army attacks, but is forced to fall back after losing two Commando and two Boer Light Cavalry companies in the assault. The British suffer the loss of four Colonial Infantry companies during the assault, as well as four companies of wounded Colonial Cavalry in the hills outside the city. Thanks to these recent battles, our army is now STRONG compared to Britian!

Hurdiyo launches the Armored Cruiser, FRS Beijing, which sets sail to join the Maarepore Battle Group and Kilwa launches an Early DD, the FRS Iron Man.

In Naval battles, the FRS Khartoum and FRS Bangalore are sunk off the coast of Spain by Royal Navy M Class DD's, but those are, in turn, sunk by the FRS Niamey and FRS Jerusalem, while the latest spy reports from Borneo reveal that all cities on the island are defended by ridiculous amounts of troops.... Thankfully we'll soon have and EQUALLY ridiculous amount of troops landing on the island!

12 tons of Raw Materials are returned to the export market in Constantinople.

At the end of June, Spain asks for an alliance against Portugal, and we would accept except for the facts that we have an active RoP agreement with Portugal and we don't have enough Naval Infantry to take them out, so we give the Spanish 2000 Gilders instead. Brazil and La Plata sign a peace treaty, after which La Plata signs Spain into its war with Austria! The Spanish entry into the continental war might just save Russia's ass from Germany!

The Dutch want an alliance against Japan, but we decline and give them 2000 Gilders instead.

In war news, the British attack our forces in Wales and England! The assault on Liverpool is repelled, with three companies of Colonial Cavalry lost on the British side, while the British expend their entire Mustard and Chlorine Gas inventory on our troops outside London! Both Maxim MG battalions and a Boer Infantry company suffer moderate, but gruesome, casualties and President Kruger, along with Veld Marshall Takayama roundly condemn the British use of such barbaric weapons.

British Avro Bombers make a run on the Maarepore BG, and the FRS Maarepore takes a hit from one of the bombs and sustains minor damage.

Elsewhere, Germany takes Moscow and La Plata takes Cayenne (former French Guiana) from Germany.

The losses for this turn are:

British: 2 Vickers MG, 1 City Guard, 2 British Inf, 1 Home Guard, 3 Col Sentries, 5 Col Inf, 7 Col Cav, 1 13.5” Railroad Gun, 2 Airco DH2 Fighters, 1 Acheron Class DD, 1 Steam Transport, 2 M Class DDs.

Boers: 1 Boer Inf, 3 Commandos, 3 Boer Light Cavalry, 1 Renault, 2 Armored Cruisers.

Persians: 5 Maxim MG, 18 Persian Rifleman, 3 Militia, 10 Light Cavalry

During the second week of July 1912, Pretoria, Dublin and Cork finish training Civil Engineer teams, which are sent various places to work on numerous projects. A quick check with special agent "Solid Snake" in the Azores reveals that Shah Nasser Al-Din has hurriedly assembled a Light Cavalry company, not that it will do them much good!

After our Naval bombardment blows up their food storehouse and reduces all defending units to 25% strength, three Companies of Boer Commandos wipe out all defenders and the Azores are captured!

Shah Nasser Al-Din is forced to abdicate and is sent into exile, while all remaining Persian military units in the provisional state of Iran are offered, and accept, generous terms of surrender and are allowed to return to their homes after turning in their weapons. The Azores are added to the Iberian Federal State.

On top of that good news, the Battle of London resumes with another massive artillery barrage that inflicts 75% casualties on all remaining defenders and blows up the local Tin Mining company.

During heavy fighting that sees three Boer Commando companies and one Boer Light Cavalry company as well as five British Vickers MG battalions, the London City Guard regiment, six companies of Colonial Infantry, a Colonial Cavalry Corps, a British Cavalry Company, a Home Guard company and a Colonial Sentry company wiped off the map, London, along with Buckingham Palace, is ours!

The Royal Family was not found at the palace, and several zeppelins were spotted flying Southeast from London, and a week later word is received that the British government, along with Queen Victoria, has moved to Stuart, Australia.

Bombardment of Plymouth damages the defending units, but not nearly enough to consider launching an assault, so all available full-strength units and artillery are moved into position to hit the city at the end of the month.

Elsewhere, Casablanca launches the Armored Cruiser, FRS Bangalore II and the last eleven Boer Riflemen companies are re-equipped and re-trained as Boer Infantry. Troops also land on Sibu in Borneo while the FRS Sea Wasp torpedoes a British Advanced Transport off the coast of Africa and 16 tons of Raw Materials are shipped to export markets in Constantinople (16 tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt! Oh St. Peter, I can't goooo! I owe my soul to the company store! ...sorry couldn't resist :p)

During the middle of July, Chile declares war on Brazil and Austria pulls Germany into its war against Spain! Looks like Russia will live to see another day!

In military action, British aircraft bomb our ships off the coast of Borneo, damaging the FRS Agent 89, FRS Silver 2039, and FRS Mecca. A GINORMOUS assault on our beach head outside Sibu is repelled with heavy losses on the British side: TWELVE companies of Colonial Cavalry are slaughtered just to wipe out three elite Commando companies. Britain also bombs Liverpool with some of their remaining Zeppelins and uses their last Mustard Gas shells on our troops outside Plymouth, inflicting minor, but hideous, casualties on a Boer Infantry company. Veld Marshall Takayama, issues a memo, co-signed with the President and Defense Minister Voorhees, to all unit commanders stating that ANY British POW who was involved with ANY kind of chemical attack is to be sent to Cairo, where they'll be thrown into a pit full of fer-de-lances as fitting punishment for their crimes against humanity!

The British also land a lone British Cavalry company in Ireland.

Elsewhere, Germany re-captures Cayenne and the Former French Guiana from La Plata.

So it is with the Persian Axis of Evil destroyed and Britain all but driven out of their home islands, that this chapter comes to a close.

Losses:

British: 4 Vickers MG, 1 City Guard, 6 Col Inf, 13 Col Cav, 1 Army, 1 British Cav, 1 Home Guard, 1 Col Sentry, 2 Airco DH2, one 13.5” Railroad Gun, 1 Adv Transport.

Boers: 6 Commando, 1 Boer Light Cavalry.

Persians: 8 Maxim MG, 1 Light Cavalry, 2 Militia.

Hmmm.... It would seem that interest in this story has died....

Anyways:

Book II: Operation Sunset
Chapter 3: The Fall of Britain

During the last week of July 1912, the Irish Artillery Brigade hammers the British Cavalry regiment that landed earlier in the month and a Boer Infantry company finishes them off, garnering promotion to veteran status. The Irish Artillery Brigade then turns their 7.5cm GebK247 guns on the R Class DD and Steam Transport that Brought the Cavalry over, sending them both to the bottom of the Irish Sea.

At Plymouth, after a massive artillery barrage that turns three quarters of the defenders into hamburger and the Plymouth Naval Base into rubble, Defense Minister Voorhees orders the assault to begin. An elite Commando division and an elite Boer Light Cavalry regiment are gunned down by a Vickers Machine Gun battalion, but a Renault Gepantser Groep manages to wipe out the last of the machine guns and is promoted to veteran status.

On the western side of the city, a veteran Renault Gepantser Groep is demolished by the Plymouth City Guard regiment. During the heavy fighting, the City Guards are, wiped out by a Commando division, which is, in turn, slaughtered by a British Infantry division. By that time, however, the forces on the East side of Plymouth break through and fall upon the British Infantry from the rear. That British Infantry division along with one other division to the North of it are mercilessly slaughtered by a veteran Commando division, which is promoted to elite status. Another elite Commando division wipes out the last Colonial Infantry division defending the city, and Plymouth is captured.

Royal Air Force ground crews fire their hangars and zeppelin dock, to prevent our capturing their assets, and at the same time remove the last British military presence from the British isles! The British outposts in the Atlantic have been reduced to the heavily fortified island of Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands.

After meeting with his Cabinet, the Isle of Britain is divided up as follows: Scapa and Glasgow have already been organized into the Sovereign Republic of Scotland, Liverpool and the surrounding area are organized into the Sovereign Republic of Wales, Plymouth and its surrounding area are organized into the Sovereign Republic of Cornwall, and Middlesbrough, London and the rest is organized as the Engeland Provisional State.

Veld Marshall Takayama orders all available troops and newly recruited units from Europe and Africa to begin landing on Gibraltar in preparation for the epic showdown of the century, while all Asian units begin boarding newly-constructed Steam Transports in Vietnam to support the assault on Borneo.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Artillery sinks a British Advanced Transport off the coast of Malaysia and 12 tons of Raw materials are shipped into Constantinople.

The first week of August sees our stalwart ally, Spain, declare war on the Dutch! (Sub Bug strikes again, baby!), and the Habsburgs pull Japan into their war against La Plata.... Not much is expected to happen on that front, mainly due to the fact that Japan is too busy pwning Russia to bother with South America.

The Dutch pull Russia into their war with Britain, while Britain and Japan sign a peace treaty. While the Dutch will HOPEFULLY keep the Brits occupied in what will soon be the main theater of operations (Indonesia), the peace treaty will likely free up Royal Navy assets in the region to further make life miserable for our ships....

Some good news comes near the end of the week, with the US DECLARING WAR ON BRITAIN!!! Britain is now THOROUGHLY SCREWED! Japan and Russia sign a peace treaty after the Japanese take Nicolojevsk, bringing and end to their prolonged war and leaving Manchuria solidly under Japanese control. Hopefully this will give Russia a fighting chance against Germany, now that Spain is fighting them in the West.

In military action, British bombers continue to hit the Maarepore Battle Group, damaging the FRS Baghdad, FRS Ghardaia and the FRS Mwanza. The British order another Cavalry charge against our growing forces on Borneo, but the attack is repelled. The British lose three regiments of Colonial Cavalry without inflicting any significant casualties on or troops.

Elsewhere, Germanay takes Ashgabat in Russian Carjackistan, solidly cutting Russia in half.

Losses this round are:

British: 1 British Cavalry regiment, 1 Vickers MG batallion, 1 City Guard regiment, 2 British Infantry divisions, 3 Colonial Cavalry regiments, 1 R Class DD, 1 Steam Transport, 1 Adv Transport.

Boers: 2 Commando divisions, 1 Boer Light Cavalry regiment, 1 Renault gepantser groep

During the middle of August 1912, THREE R Class DD's and and Advanced Transport are sunk off the Coast of Madagascar by a combined attack with shore-based artillery, Coastal Gunboats and Coastal Submarines. The British Navy, once the greatest in the world, continues to unravel under the Boer onslaught.

The first wave of the Atlantic assault force lands on Gibraltar, while the artillery bombardment of Sibu continues on Borneo. Two squadrons of Avro 504 Bombers are destroyed during the Barrage and several Colonial Infantry divisions suffer heavy casualties. The Boer troops on the island dig in while more reinforcements, including the 1st Light Horse brigade arrive in preparation for the assault next month.

At the end of August, Portugal and Spain sign a peace treaty, as to La Plata and Britain as well as the Netherlands and Japan.

The British make yet another futile attempt to dislodge us from Borneo, losing two Colonial Cavalry regiments in exchange for a single Boer Infantry division.

Thus it is on the eve of our Pacific campaign that this chapter comes to a close

Losses:

British: 2 Colonial Cavalry regiments, 3 R Class DD's, 1 Advanced Transport, 2 Avro 504 Bombers

Boers: 1 Boer Infantry division.

Port Elizabeth launches the Early DD, FRS Theryman and Port Nolloth launches an Early DD, the FRS Civ Khan. In the meantime, the Jason Voorhees Task Force enters the Mediterranean.... Soon we'll bring them to bear on the Balkans and Ottomans.
I always get quite a shock when I see my name come up in stories! I am catching up now... I took a break that lasted longer than yours!

nono, interest is still here for the story!

i have bucketloads of it! please continue :)

I agree with Auralia! I just refound this story, don't kill it again after I reread it all!

Furthermore, I would like to point out the hypocrisy- the Boers hated the fact that the Brits ruled them, and now I am sure that all these other peoples, including the English, hate the fact that the Boers rule them! The point is, finish the hypocrisy and kill england before you end the story.

*Concurs with above posters*
Just ... don't have much to say, and didn't get in early enough to say "haha" on some of the jokes (Jason, Sephiroth, etc).

Also: My German game (VP Win, but I'm still playing it), the Boers gave me the most trouble comparative to size ... also the only civ I've caught cheating, in that they took a city they needed 3-move units to attack using only 2-move units.

Civ3 does not cheat that way! Perhaps they had troops already by the city when war was declared? Or they had a ROP through a neighbor civ and used their land to get to them? But I assure you that they follow all the same rules that a person does, when the person is using debug mode. More rules, really, cause they cannot change your build.

But the Boers always do seem to do really well. I think it is cause for the whole first era they do nothing but build up troops and fortify them, while everyone else is shipping troops back to Europe with raw materials. Then, when time for war comes, all those units flood everywhere! I know I am nervous to declare war on them.
