Only Ghandi has optics atm so won't get it from him till someone else knows it.
Are you sure Gandhi won't trade Optics without anyone else knowing it? Gandhi's Monopoly Technology threshold is only 20%. He knows only five other AI. I now suspect I'm wrong about it being 1/5 = 20%; forget to count Gandhi which would make it 1/6 = 16.6% which isn't enough. Does anyone know how to calculate the percentage for a Technology? Is the denominator based on the number of Civs an AI knows or is it the total number of AIs? The numerator should be the total number of AIs that the AI knows of that know the Technology or its just the straight number of Civs that know the Technology? I think its the former in both cases.
No-one is near or started Edu so will be safe with Lib. I'll carry on banking cash and slowly tech towards Lib. Still tempted to give Roo gp for compass + cash and another tech though if we bank cash we'll be ok. We should be able to use gp to get guilds or engineering so will check screens every turn.
Again, I strongly suggest we take this trade from Roosevelt (that other Technology should be Theology in my opinion, so we can build The Hagia Sophia):
Theology + Compass + 430W for Gunpowder
Note that Roosevelt has 440W, so we know that this is the best possible deal we can get from him this turn. We are only giving up 10W for Theology which is a much larger Technology than Aesthetics. Plus Theology unlocks The Hagia Sophia.
I suggest we start The Hagia Sophia immediately this turn, right after the above trade with Roosevelt.
HS? As we are already in serfdom will the HS help speed up our workers? I think the answer would be no but anyone have any ideas.
Yes, of course it will boost our Workers by +50%, so with Serfdom, our Workers will be boosted by another +50% or +100% total. That would allow our Workers to build Roads in a single turn for good flat Terrain (Grassland, Plains); it may be enough to reduce Fallout clearing by 2t for all terrain; I'm not sure of the exact turns for tasks other than Roads.
Now a wonder which is still available is the MoM and if we go for some late game Golden Ages that will be a boost so would suggest going for the when we have marble settled. I'll keep IvoryBeef and Copper Town on military the other cities will continue there builds as most won't finish in my turnset. Where they do I'll go for granaries or workers.
Mausoleum of Maussollos is available, but how many Great Ages will we manage to start. We are certainly making no attempt to get Nationalism so we can build The Taj Mahal. How many Great People will we have in the Space Ship part build phase and can we generate enough different Great People to start a Great Age with 3 Great People, 4 Great People. We will be lucky to start a 1 Great Person Great Age through a 3 Great People Great Age. We could get a 4 Great People Great Age, if we use 2-3 Great Generals, since they come from a completely separate generation system than all other Great People (aside from the free ones associated with certain Technologies.
I'm fine with chasing Mausoleum of Maussollos if we don't have something better like The Hagia Sophia to build.
Aside from Roosevelt and Churchill, not many Leaders are building Great Wonders. That's probably why so many early Era Great Wonders were available until recently.
We need more Workers than we need Granaries. Also, some Cities don't need a Granary. They will get to Happiness cap without a Granary just fine. Otherwise, Granaries would be useful for whipping, but we probably don't want to switch between Slavery and Serfdom, since the Anarchy could get expensive, unless we're able to do useful whipping in nearly all Cities while in 5t of Slavery.
There doesn't seem a lot to do in my turnset. Safe from Mao. Churchill doesn't have any iron and can't settle behind us with closed borders. Note Liverpool!! Option to keep or raze when we get it through culture. Although can we culture flip in this game? I presume so.
You will need to keep alert to good trading options. Complete 3 more Universities for Oxford University ASAP. Build Courthouses in all Cities except possibly Capital. Build Markets in high commerce Cities or Cities that need extra Happiness.
We need a Military Technologies soon, so we can be building units that won't become obsolete so fast. Musketman are great defenders for now, but they will become obsolete quite soon. Guilds would be a good near term one (Knights can be a good anti-pillaging unit). Military Tradition would be nice, but significantly off our Space Colony bee-line. Rifling fits well. Steel would be good and early Cannons are extremely devastating to Civs that are not much past Castles, Knights, Pikeman, Crossbowmen and Longbowmen.
Keep building Musketmen in CopIronRice and IvoryBeef.
The option "No City Flipping From Culture" is selected. In the Game, you can press F8 "Victory Conditions" and Tab Settings will show all the settings, except for some minor map parameters like the type of Coast when such is available for a map.
