Playing immortal difficulty as Washington today for fun and profit...

... on Perfect World map script. If you haven't, you gotta try it. It makes beautiful maps. Just thought I'd throw in a plug there...

...long story short, I founded a city by Mt Sinai and "just" as I was about to get a pantheon someone enhanced their religion. The number of pantheons equaled (or was greater than) the number of "religions to possibly be founded", so I was like... damn... never had this happen before.

So I left Sinai plot in production. I figured, eh, when someone spreads to me I'll have boatloads of faith to splurge. Then a great prophet spawned at (over some) the 300 mark (epic pace). So I still founded a religion, and in so doing, was allowed then to "also" pick my pantheon bonus.

Just thought I'd share.

p.s. My capitol (which I named Fort Knox) has 4 gold mines, so I chose religious idols and named my religion Commercialism. Fitting, huh? Also, Dido's on the other side of a mountain range from me. Cool to see her actually getting to use her ability... as I plink her elephants with my compound bows while they take attrition damage... gotta fix the AI on that.

Also, now my tooltip over faith at the top is buggy. It doesn't say, for example, 450 needed for the next prophet. It has the "amount accumulated empire-wide", amount produced by cites, number of religions that can be founded 0 and...

"A religion have been enhanced and the number of pantheons formed is at least equal to the maximum number of religions. With these condition, you may no longer found a Pantheon. Use your accumulated faith to buy religious units or buildings if a religion is spread to one of your cities. Or save it for the Industrial Era or later to generate Great People."

I don't think that's right, since I already formed a religion.

Please don't move my thread, as it's good info for people in the same position sometime. I'll link a bug report thread to this one.

That's nice. I noticed that some of the AIs don't seem to pursue religion at all. I'm currently playing an emperor game as Austria where I found the first religion in the world like 150 turns before the 2nd religion was founded. Currently my religion has about 50 cities while the others have one city each.

To be honest, I chose the AIs for this game just to test this. They are Polynesia, Sweden, Korea, Carthage, the Incas, Persia, Japan, the Netherlands and France. Had I had the Celts, Ethiopia, Bysantium or Spain in the game, I surely wouldn't have been the first or even the second civ to found a religion.

This is not a bug. It works exactly how it is meant to.

Every player in the game is eligible to found a pantheon. However, once *ANYONE* enhances a religion (founds it plus spends another GP to upgrade it), additional pantheons can only be created up to the religions limit.

It's what the tooltip says, "after I founded a religion". Read the post, please.
